I am booked for a gastric sleeve in December. VERY NERVOUS and need a friend
just me, but i wouldn't want to go alone. other people have gone alone and done fine. i think it has to be what you are comfortable with.

Anyone set for November 13th?
ugh, my office changed their firewall and i can't reach this website easily. what a huge bummer. this morning i woke up and wondered how it would be if it snowed early and heavily and i have to get around in it post-op. the things you think of! i'm 14 days away (11/18) and i am fluctuating madly between wishing it was tomorrow and being scared sh!tless.

Unbelievably stressed OUT, how to focus?
you are very much not alone. i try to concentrate just on one thing at a time, the next thing i have to do, and somehow i get through the day. it's hard to focus on one thing when we have so much going on rigth now, but it's good practice to keep trying.

Type 1 Sleeve
my endo and i discussed this, and she wants me to cut my basal right away and just bolus as i need while i'm home recuperating and figuring out what the new norm is. i'm feeling very comfy with that suggestion. i use a CGM also, so i will do my best to keep me at a safe and comfortable reading. i really don't think being a Type 1 will cause us to lose slower, even though it's really hard to lose weight as a Type 1 normally. i think our more stable blood sugar will help us there.

Type 1 Sleeve
hi! i'm a type 1, and i'm scheduled for 11/18. there's very little on here, i agree, but there are enough of us that someone always answers when we ask a question. my biggest concerns are: 1) going low and not being able to take in enough glucose; and 2) healing slower because, well, i usually do. i'll be happy to share my experiences with you once i have them .

10 days post op and...
so, strung out druggie is your halloween costume for this year! lol... based on other things in life, both medical and otherwise, i would suggest not expecting each day's status to be improving on a straight trend line upwards. most things go back and forth a bit, with overall improvement noticed over a longer term than one day. so try not to beat yourself up. distilling your post, i hear: you're tired, and you're bored with your diet. so give yourself a break and rest today! and maybe, look at some of the recipes people have posted on here, for every phase, and try something new to break your boredom. congrats on the weight loss!

9 month anniversary.

anxiety
absolutely! i just got my date of 11/18 a couple of days ago, and every few hours i get "omg i'm going to have most of my stomach cut out in less than three weeks!" then i try to breathe and relax, and start going through all the wonderful things that i have to look forward to post-surgery... feeling better, walking better, relief from pain, reduction in daily medication needed, being able to get up from the couch without a helping hand, wearing clothes that make me look as sexy as i feel... i just keep going until i can smile. breathe. we'll be fine.

I lost three employees last week and I can't keep up
they all got promotions, so i'm very happy for them, but i am now wearing four hats and i can't keep up! i barely go to the potty. the other day i forgot to have lunch, and i have NEVER in my whole life forgotten to eat. the good thing is that it's stopping me from obsessing about my upcoming surgery (11/18!!)
