  1. Thank you all.. I have picked myself up today and strengthened my resolve to do this! Pre-op and post-op are going to be be tough, but I need to be tougher!! It is just a small amount of time in this long journey and the weight is starting to come off so yay!! You really ate all so inspiring and encouraging to us newbies! xx

  2. Thank you all sooo much. Your positive words have inspired me to start today with a strong resolve and will to do better because I deserve it and my family deserves it. I have to keep telling myself it is just 4 weeks, not forever. And this is a hurdle to get over to get to my goal. I really appreciate your support :)

  3. Hi all, day 4 of the pre-op and I have given into the cravings. I have just sabotaged my own surgery. Yesterday and today have been easier with the shakes but I had a horrible work day and was tired and stressed, so what did I do? Eat.. My pre-op is for 4 weeks so I'm hoping that if I toe the line for the next 3 1/2 weeks, my liver will be good to go. I'm telling myself to learn from this lesson by starting afresh tomorrow and forgive myself for my mistake. I know I am an emotional eater and medicate myself with food, but don't really know how to change that habit?...

  4. I mean how ever much you weighed' date=' when you lost your first 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, ect.. Could you actually get up of the couch and do more things then you could when u were heavy, I have a lot of back trouble and I've been feeling kind of lazy and some people even say when you loose 50 lbs that's 50 lbs ur carrying around with you anymore (imagine if u put a backpack on with 50lbs inside of it) it would make things a lot harder for you to do with that extra weight.... I don't know lol, I'm Just feeling very held down and I'm hoping after weight loss when im in that size 6 I will be able to feel like I will be able to do a lot more without being so tired and constricted. I'm only 26, and most of the weight came from having kids and just eating and eating I've done all kinds of yoyo dieting and weight loss crap and nothing I mean nothing works and I've heard and saw so many success stories I knew that lapband would be perfect for me! I have all my clearances already done and go time is sept 16 I wish it was tomorrow but all good things come to those who wait! <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> thanks all for your input! Have a blessed day![/quote']

Omg! I could have written this!!! I suffer with back pain because of my weight and struggle with energy levels and keeping up with my kids. I need to lose half of my body weight (yikes!!) and when I think about how much better I will feel at that weight, I always imagine a thin me carrying another me around all day. No wonder my back hurts and I feel tired!!!! I'm 4 days into pre-op and getting banded on August 5th. Can't wait!!!

  5. SJP that's great news! It feels a bit more real once you start the pre-op diet. My biggest worry at the moment is my liver. I'm day 4 of the diet and it is getting easier but I'm really scared that my liver won't shrink enough and my surgery won't go ahead. Everyone on here seems to have had no problems with their liver so fingers crossed!

  6. All of your post-op stories are so encouraging and motivating to us pre-ops! I'm sure I will be saying in the future that this was the best thing I have ever done! I keep reminding myself that this is a journey and the hardest step is the first one. Nothing changes if nothing changes and I need to just take one step at a time :)

  7. That's my biggest fear at the moment... My liver!! My surgeon has said if the liver is still too big he won't do the op! I'm day 3 of the 4 week pre-op diet, and have managed to stick to it so far but am fighting the cravings and temptations and am sure I might slip up at some stage. A friend suggested taking those liver detox tablets for fatty livers to help my liver along.. Has anyone tried this?

  8. Lucky you! There seems to be some real inconsistencies with the surgeons and pre-op diets. Or maybe it's more about how much you have to lose and how big your liver is? Anyway it's exciting to have the date and know that our lives are going to change in such a positive way. I'm excited! It's been such a long wait..

  9. I know how you feel. I cheated and I was fine but I regret it. The pre op and first couple weeks after you can lose the most and then it may slow. Try to get the most out of this. You will be very happy in a few weeks with weight loss. Plus it doesn't get easier mentally so need to prepare. You will eat again. Be strong girl' date=' I tried, ate one day, felt bad and got back to it[/quote']

Lisamase I was thinking this was going to be the hardest phase, is post op harder?!?!

  10. Thanks girls, I'm so happy I've found this site because I think I'm going to need the support!! The headaches are horrible, apparently it's from sugar and carb withdrawal. Day 3 and my headache today isn't as bad as yesterday so that's a good sign. The shakes are ok, but I'm surprised at what I'm craving. McDonald's and not chocolate! I just keep telling myself to take one day at a time...
