  1. I'm so glad you're feeling better. I'm now 7 days post-op and feeling sooo much better too! I had one of those body pillows when I was pregnant with my girls but threw it out when we moved house. But I looooved it when I was pregnant. I actually just used a normal pillow last night to support my belly and slept on my side. Yay! You must be so excited to move to soft foods. I still have another week to go on liquids and only today I feel over drinking and not eating. I think because I woke up feeling better, I also had an appetite and have been tempted to make scrambled eggs! But I will follow doctors orders because the weight is coming off so I know it is working... 31 lb loss when I got on the scales this morning (including 4 weeks pre-op). How is your weight loss going?
  2. Hi musica 73! I'm 5 days post-op and finally feeling better today. I have struggled with being sore but the worst part has been the gas pains. Omg they hurt!!! Some tips would be to buy a heat pack if you don't have one. It really does help with the shoulder pain. Pack a Chapstick for the hospital, your lips get dry after anesthetic. And keep on top of your pain meds even if you're feeling ok. I was slack with mine yesterday because I was starting to feel better and boy did I pay for it last night!! Good luck
  3. I know how you feel, it is hard to gauge how much because it feels different. I have been hungry but not wanting to have fluids be ajar of the gas pains. Fortunately I'm feeling better today and am not so sore. I also jumped on the scales after promising myself that I wouldn't and was thrilled to see I've lost 5lb since surgery! I will try Prilosec, thanks for the tip
  4. I stayed overnight.. My surgeon prefers that.
  5. Hey all, I was banded two days ago and have had an uncomfortable tightness after eating today (soup and vege juice only). Is that normal? It almost feels like a stitch in my left side?
  6. I am 4 days post-op and have also had bad gas pains in my chest and shoulders. They ease after a couple of hours but it is sooo uncomfortable. My port site hurts to lay down and sit up with. And I can only lay on my back to sleep but am more comfortable sitting on the sofa. My heat pack has been my best friend the last few days!! I have mainly been sipping Water and sucking on Popsicles. I had broth the first two days but feel over it now. Looking forward to some soft foods in a couple of weeks, like scrambled eggs! But my surgeon said I have to wait till two weeks after surgery. Thin liquids the first week, then thicker liquids in the second week, then soft mushy foods in the third week. When is your first fill scheduled for?
  7. I am having problems with my port site as well. Very tender and sore and stopping me from getting comfortable in bed. Even laying on my back is annoying it. I am only 4 days post-op so I'm sure it will get better, but I want to ask... Once it has healed can you feel it in there or does your tummy feel normal again? Thanks
  8. I'm over feeling sore and gassy today! My incision sites are painless but my port site is really annoying me, and every time I drink I get gas pains! I have to keep reminding myself to go slow. I'm getting frustrated at not being able to sleep comfortably and being limited physically. The housework is starting to pile up and I just want to do it!! Are you struggling with being on only liquids or just the portion size? I am finding myself thinking oh it's lunchtime I need to eat when I'm not even hungry. I'm also finding myself wanting a sip of Water but not wanting to deal with the gas pains again. It's frustrating.
  9. I didn't get the shakes but I got headaches and bad!!! They went away after day 4.
  10. Yes I did for the first two days. Better now though
  11. It's day 4 for me now and I've realized that the discomfort I've been having is definitely gas. I wake up in the morning and feel fine, then as soon as I have something to sip, the pain starts and lasts for a couple of hours. The pain is to the left of the port site and radiates to my left shoulder. So trying to sip less and sip slower.. As for the weight gain, I too have put on 3 pounds since the surgery. But have been told to expect that because of all the fluids that have been pumped into me. So I'm trying to be strong and not look at the scales for a week or so!
  12. Brittani how did you go at your docs appointment?
  13. The hospital beds are sooo uncomfortable. It feels better to be home and able to sit on your own sofa (which is the most comfortable place for me at the moment!)
  14. I'm still on pain meds which seem to be helping. I am having gas problems as well. I feel like I want to burp but can't!
  15. How are all the recently banded feeling? I'm two days post-op and feeling ok. Sore and tight where my port is and hungry, but can only drink a little before I feel uncomfortable. Shoulder pain is easing today but I'm feeling like I need to burp and toot all the time!
  16. I am feeling more gassy today, and wanting to burp but can't. Shoulder pain has eased though thankfully!
  17. I was banded yesterday and my post op diet is first week thin liquids, second week thicker liquids, third week mashed food, fourth week eat normal.
