  1. Well that's good news! Swelling will go down and doesn't cause any damage. Can they explain why you were throwing up in the first place?
  2. Well I've been trying to avoid getting on the scales everyday but after yesterday's 1 1/2lb loss I got on again this morning (I think just to make sure the loss was still there lol) and I was down another 2lbs! What is that all about?!?! It's like my body finally realized that's its not being starved and can let go of some fat!!! How is everyone doing??
  3. Woohoo!! Tad excited to see a change on the scales today! Loss total is now at 36.5lbs. After four weeks of the same number my hard work has finally paid off!! Even more excited for my fill on Thursday
  4. Good on you! I'm not confident enough to join a gym yet but am using my treadmill most days. I finally saw some movement on the scales today! 1.5 lbs!! It's such a small amount but after four weeks of staying the same, I'm thrilled!

    How is everyone doing??

Aghhh still stuck at 35lb loss! Second fill booked for next week. Yay!
  6. Bandsters my weight still hasn't shifted either! It seems to be really common amongst most of the banded at this time. I'm hoping the fill I'm having next week will turn it around. I don't have any real restriction yet at 4cc's so hopefully if I keep getting fills I will be seeing that sweet spot soon! I've had a couple of bad days but have been trying hard to eat well and exercise. It's hard to keep the motivation up when the scales keep showing the same number but I keep taking it a day at a time.
  7. Sounds like your boss appreciates you! I'm sure everything will work out for the best.
  8. My friend who is a nurse does transcribing from home because she is a single parent and finds it much easier with her kids than when she was working at the hospital! Was today a better day at work?? Hope so
  9. Stress has the worst effect on your body. Good on you for recognizing that this job is not going to help your weight loss journey. I have learnt the hard way that my happiness and health are more important than any job. I was in a very stressful job for the last two years and aghhh if momma ain't happy.. Ain't nobody happy! I was so glad to be able to let it go. We don't have as many $ coming into the house each week but I have more time and energy for my kids, myself, my hubby, and my house! Good luck with the job hunting!
  10. It is disheartening because you want to see some reward for your hard work!
  11. I know it's discouraging but remember until you are at the right fill level and in the green zone you are just dieting. And let's face it, if we were great at dieting we would have lost our excess weight years ago and wouldn't have needed to be banded! I feel exactly the same in terms of hunger. I really hope your doc is aggressive with his fills and gives you a couple of cc's. My doc will only do 1cc at a time. Idk if that's normal but I've spoken to others who get 2cc's each time. Good luck for tomorrow
  12. Did the watermelon get stuck? Hope you're feeling better now
  13. Stay focussed on your goal and take the time to take care of yourself. I know when I was still teaching I would skip meals to get work done and pay for it when I did get a chance to eat! Let us know how you go. Good luck
  14. Yes... No change! Aghhh
  15. Are you having trouble with eating carbs? I am taking a multivitamin everyday but nothing else. I have heard that biotin is great for hair, skin, and nails as well.
  16. Rosianna I have heard this as well... I know I just need to keep doing the right thing and it will pay off for me, but it is just so frustrating!!
  17. It seems we are all going through a bit of a low where no weight is coming off, or even creeping back on! I am just SOOOO frustrated with it, as I'm sure you all are too... The last three days I have just given up. I have eaten anything that I wanted. I have stayed away from the treadmill. I have not counted calories. And everyday I have told myself that I will turn it around tomorrow. But the next day comes, and my frustration takes over and I make bad decisions again. Another bandster buddy told me that it is normal because our bodies need to adjust to the sudden weight loss we had after surgery, but three weeks of staying the same?? All I can think of is that even though I'm eating healthy, maybe I'm eating too much? Aghhhh. I really don't know how to turn this around!!
  18. Cwinkler and Donna I felt the same post-op, but as the swelling goes down you will be surprised at how quickly your appetite comes back and each day you will want to be eating more. A month after post-op you will be saying "band? what band" lol.
  19. Band buddies, who has some yummy ideas for lunch? I feel like I'm eating the same thing everyday and want to change it up a bit!
