Well Congratulations on your news!! I had my revision in January and I am so happy!! No limitations with the sleeve I can eat onion, celery and carrots without any problems the best part is I can keep all the Protein in my body with out throwing up. My body at the end of my lapband journey my would without notice I would get violently sick!! Some people have had good response with the lapband and some haven't we all are like fingerprints each is different and our experiences are different too. I am a firm believer in doing what is right for you to have a long and healthy life!!

Glad to hear he moved out. Now is the time to get some addiction or co-addiction counseling for yourself and for the kids as well. I know it is a finacial burden but there are meetings out there that are supportive and will help you and your kids to see the truth. Also please know that you were in many ways a single parent in that relationship. While being a parent to him in a lot of ways. He was enabled to get all that he wanted and yet you had to work so hard to keep it all together. Now is the time to reflect on what will make your home safe and peacful again for your family. Take the time to be selfish and work on what you need to work on to make you stronger and happy once again. Addiction is hard life to live and even harder to be around it has an undercurrent that no one else really knows unless you have lived it. My cousin had a boyfriend who addicted to heroin and it had and still has a scar on their lives. She had to first admit she enable her bf then admit she too needed to break the chains of addiction in her life. I think she found help with al onon meetings in her area. They ave 2 children together and she has made a new life for herself and her children, they see and interact with their dad and as children they know they have to be the adult in his life, so sad. But true, kids are resilint and smarter then most think. Praying for you and your children too!

Surgeon has only done 26 sleeves
BellaHugz replied to ChristmasJanet's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow, I researched for my revison doctor for over 2 years. Since the doctor who did my lapband was a good surgeon and I was reffered to him however after years of suspecting my lapband had problem this Dr alway made me think my failure to loose weight was my fault. It wasnt it was kinked and had slipped go figure. So for my health I really had look hard to find the best Dr I could find and take a leap of faith in having my revision. I had to go 2 hours out of town to find a center of excellence and I am very thankful I found not only was my doctor highly recommended he also is a leader of biariatric surgery in the USA. Many doctor from around the world come to him and learn from the best. I knew the moment I met him I would be in good hands and the proof was the when I woke up from surgery He greeted me with a smile and told me everything was ok. He also informed me that my lapband was a real mess inside me and the scare tissue fought hard to keep it in place but my doctor got it taken care of and did my sleeve all with in an hour in half. I am very pleased now! Having worked in a hospital I do know the importance of research so I am very happy to hear you have done research about your new doctor. -
Just found out my husband is trying to cheat!
BellaHugz replied to takingaleap's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I agree with this post. Often the reason a man cheats or gets caught trying to cheat is they want the easy way out. They do not want to look like the bad guy who asked for the divorce so they take the easy way out unaware of the colaterial damage that will happen regarding your children and your heart along the way. I have a feeling you already knew the signs and the texts you found were just confirmation on what you knew deep down inside. Make sure you seek proper counsel and legal counsel as well. Be wise and take care of yourself and your children. I am so sorry you have to go through this and pray you will have the widom to find the answers and the strenght to face the problems that need to be faced to get through this and the courage to keep going no matter what. Article on CBC News about Mexican WLS
BellaHugz replied to belunos's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
When I was denied by my insurance the 1st time I really thought long and hard about going to Mexico for WLS. I did alot of research and I was willing to make & take the gamble on my health. However Hubby said no way, deep down inside I knew the answer for me would be no I worked in a hospital. The day I had my surgery in CA there was reports of flooding in Mexico and all I could think of was "What if I was having surgery or even recovering from WLS and it flooded where would I be"? I am still thankful for having the WLS surgery here in the states because if I have any complications I would be taken care of. -

Switching from band to sleeve..so scared
BellaHugz replied to La Lily's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
If the lapband has been painfull then by all means do what is right for for you! I know it can be scary I to had a revison done and it is the best surgery I have ever done for myself. Well that is not true, I did do it so I would have a better quality of life for me and my family!!! And after my surgery I knew it was the best thing for me, the pain in my side that made me feel like the baseball sticking out of my ribcage was gone instantly. I was walking the hallways in the hospital and felt better with in hours of my surgery. My surgeon came in and told me everything was ok, i had alot of scare tissue and they got it all done and the revision done as well. I wasnt sure if it was the morphine so I went to the bathroom mirror to double check and see if I had surgery! The next day when i could wash up I did double checked again Good luck on your journey to a healthy new you! -

Cheating the consultation scale...
BellaHugz replied to msjoy83's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Heck just load up your purse and weigh with it on.. Wish I thought of it but ya know how we load up our purses with out even thinking. I had so many of these combidities on my list and family history too yet NONE of that mattered with out having a bmi of 40. My father died at a young age because of obesity and still it did not count. Insurance is all about saving the big old $$ for themselves they do not care about the patient and it is very sad. Both my Doctor and the Surgeon told me this is the truth off the record. I love to tell you it did help and I was told by my insurance before i started this journey. But I got denied at 38 bmi. So not tryng to be a party pooper, be prepared and be ready. Have your favorite last meals right before you weigh in. Know in your heart it is just for the surgery and then bury that last meal mentallity. Good luck!! -
