About Me

  • Gender
    Female
  1. My doctor gave me 4cc at my first fill. He told me he was going to add as much as my band would take (up to 4cc). He said its more of a feeling with him and he can feel resistance while hes adding it if its too much. Since that first fill its really helped. I can go 3-4 hours between meals. I would talk to my doctor if I were you and see why they won't give more at each visit. Good luck!! Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

can you never get a fill?

I had one fill, last week, 4cc, and feel pretty good. Im not hungry between meals...eating small portions (4-6 oz per meal) and not having any trouble getting food down. Is it possible to be at the green zone with one fill?

    Post surgery

Yes, to an extent it is. I had surgery a little over a month ago and struggled with port site pain for over a week and it gradually got better. It's sore there mainly because you use your stomach muscles so much getting up & down as well as just moving around in general and that port is sewed right into your stomach muscle. I would say as long as you don't have any abnormal redness, heat, swelling or oozing/bleeding, it should be fine in a few days. Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

    First fill

I don't really know yet. I was filled yesterday afternoon and didn't have much of an appetite the rest of the day but that could have been from some swelling. Today we're heading out of town on vacation so I hope its not going to be too hard to curb my usual pre-band road trip snacking.

    June 27th Banders...Post Op

I had my fill yesterday. The Dr numbed it, added 4cc and all is well. The shot site was a little sore afterwards but fine now. Back to liquid/mushies for yesterday and on to regular food today.

    June 27th Banders...Post Op

I was banded June 26 and go for my first full tomorrow. Did they numb you? I'm nervous!! How do you feel now? Can you eat okay? Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  9. Hello! I was banded June 26th so were pretty close. I struggled at first with pain and lack of energy but am so much better now! Eating is good...starting to get the hunger back but I have my first fill scheduled for next week. I'm a little nervous about it! How are you doing?
  10. It will be fine. Looking back its funny how nervous I was about it. It was just fear of the unknown for me I think.
  11. I recently had surgery and haven't lost much yet but isn't it crazy that with only having lost a little I feel so much better...emotionally, personally, physically... I already have more confidence and self appreciation and I've only just begun!!

    Not losing

I try to always choose good protein sources. I'm in the mushy stage and am allowed cereal and mashed potatoes and stuff but usually choose eggs, cottage cheese, tuna, etc instead just for the protein. I also always have my protein shake.
  13. I had never had surgery before this (2 wks ago) and was really nervous about the anesthetic as well, but everything was fine. I drifted right off and woke up really tired. That was it. Good luck! Im sure you'll be fine. Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

    post op - day 2

I'm 2 wks post op and my pain issues really went away around day 4-5. It was then that I could prop a pillow behind me and sleep in my side, which was heaven. Good luck & know that you only have a couple more days before it gets SO much better! Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
