  1. I'm in Huguenot.. I had 1 fill and I lost 39lbs so far.. I still feel like I'm "dieting" but I think 1 more fill will put me in my "green zone"

Dani... I have had 2 fills and I lost 32 pounds since July 2013. I am in the green zone (7.5 cc out of a 10cc band). Even with the band we still have to watch our diet and exercise. I think it's a myth that you don't have to after you get the band. That's just my humble opinion. BTW I am in Annadale....

  2. Wow good for you. I doubt I could do that. I've changed over the years. I have become much quieter and don't say what I feel.

I used to be more out going. Now I am not. I always say what I feel or need to. Why should I hold the burden? Also I don't care what people think that helps.

Everyone is different. My husband is like you Shazam. Don't beat yourself up it takes all kinds.

  3. When I first had my surgery' date=' everyone at work would come in the lunch room to see what I was eating until one day I had had enough. I told them this is my journey and none of you need to keep monitoring my food. I got up and shut the door in their faces and that was that.[/quote']

Ha! Very good! That put them in their places!

  4. I'm very blunt and sarcastic by nature' date=' so I warned those close to me right away: What I eat or don't eat is my business. Unless you want to be stabbed with a fork, keep your criticisms and suggestions to yourself. I got this.

    ;)[/quote']

That's hilarious! Gonna steal your fork stabbing quote!

  5. I can't stand it. I am on a 1200 calorie diet and certain people in my family feel the need to tell me I am eating too much. Apparently my weight loss says I am not. They don't want to know about my weight loss. Also I haven't had my first fill yet.

Anyone else have this problem and how did you handle it?

  6. I've been lucky with the gas so far but I am only on day 2. I have the gas x strips just in case. Have you used anything that has helped? My incisions are a bit sore today. Walked around the park a bit to loosen everything up.

The post op pain of the abdominal gas dissipated yesterday. I have the gas strips too. I haven't taken anything. So I don't know of anything better. But I have just been burping more. My incisions are sore too. That's it I don't have any other issues. The walking around is the only cure for post op gas pain. I didn't believe the Dr and nurses at first but they were right.

Are you keeping a food journal?

  7. Back home from surgery and feeling pretty good. I don't want to jinx it and I know I only had surgery this morning but I thought I'd be feeling much worse. The no-caffeine headache I had yesterday during the pre-op liquid diet (I was lucky and had only one day beforehand) was worse than any discomfort I feel today. Just tired and sipping my fluids and happy that that dreaded headache is gone. I have my pain meds and anti-nausea meds if needed. How is everyone doing? Anyone who had surgery today or yesterday?

The best to you all! ;)

Hi! I was banded on the 25th. All went well. I did have pain from the gas they use to inflate your abdominal cavity with. That was bad. Worse than the incisions.

  8. Hello Banders! I have less than a week to go to my banding. I am on a two week pre-op liquid diet. Which is a 1000 calories, 2 cup of nonstarchy vegetables, and 30 calories of sugar free ice pops and/or Jello. I am going over my caloric intake by 200 calories with my Protein Shakes. I am absolutely starving if I don't. I drink extra fluids to help feel full but it doesn't work to we'll.

What kind of preoperative diets are you on and how are you doing?
