  1. The scale is thy enemy. I have lost 50 pounds and hit a wall. So I got a scale and it made me feel worse... When I see my doctor to weigh in it's always at 3pm....So depending on what I eat I weigh more. I keep mine hidden and I stick to a liquid diet for weigh ins.
  2. Dani... I have had 2 fills and I lost 32 pounds since July 2013. I am in the green zone (7.5 cc out of a 10cc band). Even with the band we still have to watch our diet and exercise. I think it's a myth that you don't have to after you get the band. That's just my humble opinion. BTW I am in Annadale.... Sent from My Samsung Galaxy S4
  3. I used to be more out going. Now I am not. I always say what I feel or need to. Why should I hold the burden? Also I don't care what people think that helps. Everyone is different. My husband is like you Shazam. Don't beat yourself up it takes all kinds. Sent from my SGH-M919 using LapBandTalk
  4. Dawalsh THANK YOU! I totally agree with you! I feel better. :-) I also set them straight. Lol Sent from my SGH-M919 using LapBandTalk
  5. I can't stand it. I am on a 1200 calorie diet and certain people in my family feel the need to tell me I am eating too much. Apparently my weight loss says I am not. They don't want to know about my weight loss. Also I haven't had my first fill yet. Anyone else have this problem and how did you handle it? Sent from my SGH-M919 using LapBandTalk
  6. I would put it through the blender on puree.... Tastes the same and no worries. Sent from my SGH-M919 using LapBandTalk
  7. The post op pain of the abdominal gas dissipated yesterday. I have the gas strips too. I haven't taken anything. So I don't know of anything better. But I have just been burping more. My incisions are sore too. That's it I don't have any other issues. The walking around is the only cure for post op gas pain. I didn't believe the Dr and nurses at first but they were right. Are you keeping a food journal? Sent from my SGH-M919 using LapBandTalk
  8. Hi! I was banded on the 25th. All went well. I did have pain from the gas they use to inflate your abdominal cavity with. That was bad. Worse than the incisions. Sent from my SGH-M919 using LapBandTalk
  9. The Psychologist mentioned it to me that I need a councilor. I went and got one. All I felt was panic so I understand your situation. Then she wanted to speak with my Psychiatrist....that took 2 months to happen... Sent from my SGH-M919 using LapBandTalk
  10. Yay! I am going in tomorrow at 9am! WOO HOO! Sent from my SGH-M919 using LapBandTalk

  12. Perhaps because you are a mother you need to be there for your children. I know I would feel a bit apprehensive too (I am not a birth mom... But a mom to my niece) I am having surgery on the 25th. You will do fine!
  13. Definitely call your doctor to find out. Everyone has a different variation of a low fat low calorie semi liquid diet. I have a 1000 calorie diet of protein shakes two cup limit on non starchy vegetables, 30 calorie limit on sugar free ice pops and jello.
  14. Thank you everyone! I feel better. I will also ask Dr too.
  15. Not to be gross.. I do brush, floss and use mouth wash. My mother said I never had this before..... Has anyone had this or heard of it?
  16. Well this is a great change for you. Me too. But I try to remind myself just because I am smaller/weight less my issues are still there. So I feel I must be diligent in my postoperative time to eat properly and limit the sweets.
  17. Good luck! I follow you on the 25th! I like what you said... Hungry in your head, not in your belly! So true.
  18. I am eating soup too during this heat wave in NYC. :-) It's yummy when you're hungry!
  19. Hello Banders! I have less than a week to go to my banding. I am on a two week pre-op liquid diet. Which is a 1000 calories, 2 cup of nonstarchy vegetables, and 30 calories of sugar free ice pops and/or jello. I am going over my caloric intake by 200 calories with my protein shakes. I am absolutely starving if I don't. I drink extra fluids to help feel full but it doesn't work to we'll. What kind of preoperative diets are you on and how are you doing?
  20. I was approved July 11th, started my liquid diet on the 12th and surgery set for the 25th of July.
  21. It sounds weird but I understand! I was hoping my BMI was high enough before my evaluation (it was) so I ate whatever I wanted to maintain it. Sounds bad but in the long run the band will help me reduce my BMI...
  22. Hey all! I have a surgery date of July 25th. I am on my 4th day of the 14 day liquid diet. I have read everyone's post up to here. I wish everyone a speedy recovery and safe surgeries! I would love to chat with anyone waiting or has had the band placed. Cheers! Adrienne
