  1. Thanks all. I don't go for follow up for another 4 weeks. My surgery was done out of town so I need to travel for the follow up. Going to see my family doc. Were you all back at work 2 weeks post op? I'm wondering if its just too much for me to be back at work just yet.
  2. I'm looking for some feedback on extreme bloating. I had my band inserted July 10/13 and I think my first few days of recovery were pretty normal but the last week or so I have had extreme pain from bloating. So much so that it has actually woken me up from deep sleep. I experience deep burning pain in the pit of my stomach and so much bloating that my stomach is actually distended. I look pregnant at times! It seems to clear up after about an hour with Tums but its so painful and my stomach gets so big. Has anyone else experienced this? When can I expect it to go away?
  3. My surgery is coming up fast. Only 5 more days. Im excited but I'm also terribly nervous because during my pre-op diet I cheated! The surgical coordinator told me I could mix the shakes with almond milk so I did for the first few days but she was mistaken. Then just 2 days ago I felt like I was starving and I ate about a third of a chicken breast. I'm terrified that they will open me up for surgery and find my liver is still too big or too fatty and it will have all been for not. Any words of wisdom? Has anyone here had a slip up and was still able to go through the surgery? I need to hear that it will be ok.
  4. Thanks Lori. I appreciated the support. I'm excited! But I'm also nervous because During my pre-op diet I cheated! 5. Thank you all for your replies and support. This seems like a really great site for support. Its ghe final countdown for me and im reallly excited but I'm also getting so nervous. Crying comes way to easily right now. Lol. I have only shared my upcoming surgery with my family and a small handful of friends. I'm too afraid of failure just yet. My surgeon has said if my liver is too fatty, they will close me up without doing the surgery and I will still be on the hook for the bill... No pressure. Lol. So far I've been able to do the pre-op diet without many challenges (other than eating a bit more than the prescribed 2 cups of veg daily) but in Canada it is Canada day weekend and the challenges are about to really begin! So any advice for sticking to the diet or words of wisdom are appreciated.
  6. Hi all! I'm brand new here and I am scheduled for my band on July 10. Has anyone on here had their surgery at the False Creek Surg Centre in Vancouver? I'm looking to connect with someone who can share their experience with that clinic. I'm excited but also so nervous. Wondering if I chose the right clinic for my procedure. Feedback please??
