It will be 2 weeks tomorrow. I lost 12 pounds. I hope I can keep it up. My doctor added more food choices and now IM hungry. I don't like the protien shakes. I need to find one that taste good. Can you all suggest something? Nancy:)

Thank you for your info. I am getting banded 4/19 by doctor Averbach at St. Agnus hosp. I go to Kathy this friday for pre op stuff....what is the preop diet like? I sure hope this is the right thing for me. nancy

How do you move the ticker over?

Does the band really FORCE you to not over eat? This is one of my major problems...I have a sweet tooth and I also over eat the right kind of food. I have a very healthy appitite and I need something that is physically going to restrict me. Nan

Does the band leak, or evaporate? I don't have the band yet, but I just found out today that my insurance approved me!! IM excited and scared. Nan

Thanks Lise and Lisa....I hear mostly good things and haven't heard anyone say they wouldn't do it again.....Gosh, I hate pain....Will I get pain meds?....LOL IM a big baby....Screamed out loud in labor both times....lol....About how long after you were approved by insurance company did you get your band? I have bcbs federal insurance and they donot require the 6 months of supervised diet...I was told by my doctor that it's the only insurance company out there like that....all others require it....do you have blue cross federal coverage? Nancy

You must feel so good....Congratulations on your success. I hope the insurance company answer comes this week. I was glad to hear that your issue with food is getting better because I know it dosn't matter what you do, if you don't change your eating habits, you can forget about it working. IM not looking for a magic wand,(unless you have one and want to let me borrow it...lol) but I want the band to make me not overeat and not eat certain things. I think we all know how to lose weight. I my case, I need something to force me to do it. Nancy

Im looking for any first hand info I can get about the lap band. I am waiting to see if my insurance will approve. I am afraid that I will be sick all of the time. Is this true? I read a few things that made me gag just reading them. I would like to know the good and bad....I am an over eater and eat fast....I know both of these things will have to stop. I like sugar and also eat too much of the right things.....IM wondering if this is the right thing for me????? Nancy

Thanks for the welcome....can you tell me when you got your band, how you're doing with it, do you regret getting it, whats the best and worst thing about having it, would you do it again, do you wish you had done bypass instead?
