  1. CONGRATS! Way to go! Thank you for sharing
  2. BLAH! I received a letter from my insurance company. They require more proof of what I have tried to loose weight. A part of me feels like this is a hit to get me down, and a part of me feels like I need to fight for this. I have to prove to them..... Wouldn't you want me to be healthier by doing the surgery and losing the weight? Jeeeeezzzzz! Has anyone else had to go thru this? Anything to keep me positive to get to my surgery (5/14) would be helpful!
  3. I being banded 5/14 the day before yours. I actually had a date last Sept and started my pre op diet. Day 3 of pre op diet I went for pre surgical testing and found out I was 14 weeks pregnant. OMG! So, I delivered 6 weeks ago and now I am ready to shed the extra weight. Thankfully, I gained 25 lbs with my pregnancy and have lost all of it!
  4. I hope that I am as positive as you are in my coming weeks ahead. I too have all the same concerns you did, like "Will I wake up from surgery"? I need to see my babies too - that too is heavy on my mind. AND YES! I am stalking your page, maybe I wont have too many questions since you blogged a lot while I was baking lil Miss Olivia.
  5. I am scheduled 5/14/14 - Nervous Nelly for sure over here! Came so close back in Sept, during my pre-op I found out I was over 3 months pregnant! SO now that I have delivered a healthy baby girl, I climbed back up on this horse and I am ready to take this ride.
  6. Does anyone know if any of the PROGRESSO LIGHT soups are acceptable for the 2 week pre-op. I have a call into the nutrionist, but I am dying to know!! PLEASE ANYONE?
  7. Best of Luck! I will be banded 9/30! I cant wait, nervous and excited all at the same time.
  8. The exact reason why I joined this group. Recently diagnosed with PCOS after months and months of no period. Still my OBGYN is tinkering with different meds - I am ready to tell her to quit it! Ive had enough, hoping to get a surgery date in the next week as all of my pre-testing is finally over with. Never though I would be saying this - but I cant wait to have a period again.
  9. What is everyone been asked to loose before surgery can be done? I have heard of 10 lbs and I thought that was pretty normal. However, my doctor is suggesting 25? I know why (to shrink the liver) but I wanted to hear from you what you were asked, if it was more than the 10 lbs? Thanks!
  10. Most overweight (MOST) have some sort of sleeping disorder due to being overweight. THIS is like Lisa said, noninvasive test. More annoying than anything else. The doctors need to know if you are apnea so when they are done with surgery, they can safely get your breathing under control using your preset CPAP machine. They want to ensure the BEST possible results for you and them. NOBODY needs your oxygen levels getting dangerously low! I have it, and I have a CPAP. I am glad to know this now, and have been using it since February 2013. GOOD LUCK!
  11. Can anyone tell me why one would stay 2 nights in the hospital? I noticed thru some ppl's profile that the normal stay in 1 night. BUt others had 2. I was just wondering why 2? Thanks
  12. I sent you a reply chasing dreams. Nice to meet you :-D
  13. Thanks for the respones! I checked some of those patients and mostly all of them have not been on here in a few years. But Thank you!
  14. HI All, I recently joined after I have been stalking thsi site. I am still in my research mode and now I need your feedback. Has anyone used Dr. Alan Geiss out of Syosset Hospital. I am looking for ALL feedback. Good, bad or indifferent. I went for a consult and really I did'nt have an opinion just yet of him. Seemed, OK. Thanks!
