Dr. Alan Geiss

HI All,

I recently joined after I have been stalking thsi site. I am still in my research mode and now I need your feedback. Has anyone used Dr. Alan Geiss out of Syosset Hospital. I am looking for ALL feedback. Good, bad or indifferent. I went for a consult and really I did'nt have an opinion just yet of him. Seemed, OK.

Thanks!

Talk to Draven. That is who he went to. Best wishes.

I am using him for my surgery, and my wife used him for hers.

Here's a link to his profile. Look on left side and you'll see all his patients who are or have been on this forum. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/surgeons/943-alan-geiss/

HI....had my consult and went to a support meeting...he seems very nice, honest and caring....really like his team...everyone has been so nice! I'm in pre-op testing now and every doctor I've gone to (and the referrals were from my primary) have said that he is "great at what he does"....i've yet to hear anything to the contrary. It was my primary that recommended me to him and I trust his judgement!

Dr Geiss was great as was his staff. I had lap band with plication 4 months ago. Down 65 pounds. All my eating and exercising habits have changed. Whatever they did, something certainly changed in me. I wouldn't give a second thought about choosing there team.

Any questions please contact me.

Best of luck!

Great to see all my band-mates from Dr. G's office here :) I agree hubby and I love him and his office!

Dr Alan geiss did my surgery 16 months ago. I have lost 41 pound. Slow but steady. However he is leaving the pratice to help start up a bariatric center at north shore hospital.

I used dr. Geiss too. Had procedure 3weeks ago. I feel good so far. Don't know how much I lost yet. Does anyone use dr. Geiss' office's support groups. I really want to but am worried no one else participate s. I went to two pre-surgury groups. I was the only one at one of them. The other had only 3 others. Wanted to go to a post surgery group last week and it was cancelled. I'm starting to worry about the support groups. I hope the one scheduled for next week will be OK. What is your experience with Dr. Geiss' office's support groups?

@@SteinLaFemme I have been to the support groups there before. They usually have a few people there. I know the office is undergoing an entire reorganization right now, and I'm not sure what the status of their groups are at this point. I would give the office a call and ask them when the next group is and to confirm that it is still on.

I have not attended a group there for a few months now since they started doing this re-org and doing construction at the hospital.

We have a NYC-Long Island Bariatric Support group as well if you feel up to a trip into NYC our next group is scheduled for Oct. 25th. I'm working on securing a space in Nassau County and Suffolk County to expand our group to those area's as well.

Here are the details for the next meeting and a link to the NYC-LI BP support group thread

http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/304888-ny-nyclong-island/page-11

The next meeting of the NYC/Long Island Bariatric Pal Support Group will be held on October 25th from 2PM till 4 PM at The Atrium at 805 Third Avenue.

The building is on Third Ave between 49th and 50th Streets.

The Atrium is at the back of the space on the lower level.

We are looking forward to seeing many of our forum friends there. If any Jersey friends want to attend, please feel free to cross the Hudson and join us!!! Westchester, Rockland and any other upstate folks are welcome to come spend the afternoon in NYC as well!

We are still working on our Long Island Venue's so stay tuned!

For those folks in the outer boroughs if you are interested in putting a meeting together in your area, visit your local library and see if it might be possible to book one of their meeting spaces for an afternoon. You generally have to live in the area to do this, so if you'd like to see a meeting in your area, give us a hand to secure the space and we'd be happy to come to your area and host a meeting with you!!

Hope to see you all on October 25th in NYC!!! Come back in a few days for some more "details" and the inside scoop for the upcoming meeting.....
