  1. Someone else on this site told me to have Mylicaon drops and Gas x on hand before the surgery. (mine is monday so I am getting everything this weekend) Same person also said she sucked on those very soft melt in your mouth mints (puffy red and white ones). I'll be thinking of you...Lisa

  2. I agree that homemade is KING.......but.....College Inn has two new ones.....White Wine and Herbs AND Thai Coconut Curry (spicey)......I love them. The Thai one I dilute with veggie stock because the flavor is really hot and strong. All my stocks come in a box. That way I can pour a small serving and snap the lid back on and put it in the fridge.....

  3. Start of my 4 day and I'm down 6 lbs. it is certainly getting easier and easier everyday. Very excited about my surgery July 9.

It is tough....I am on day 3 with a surgery date of 8 July......argg! What's hard is that I cooked for my family and then sat in the living room with a cup of broth. BUT...the reward is worth it! Keep up the great work. Lisa

  4. I've had no problem. My daughter bought me a book called Eating well after Weight Loss Surgery. It was written by a chef that also happened to have LapBand. The recipes are yummy. She has recommendations for each recipe as to when you can start it and guidelines about how much to purée and so forth. I made a turkey burger in which after grilling I cut in half and then puréed with a Greek yogurt sauce. The next day took the other half and puréed with BBQ sauce! It was very satisfying!

Most recipes are broken down into LapBand, bypass and sleeve then broken down to week 1, 2, 3, 4...

Cherie...thanks for the info on the book. Who is it by? I'd like to run out and get it...! Lisa

  5. Finally on the other side and I'm so very happy to be here. Although I felt like I'd made a mistake the first couple of days, I now realize my band is going to be my very best friend. I love not being hungry and seeing such rapid progress when I thought I would be one of the handful of people that the band won't help - I was wrong and so happy to say that I was.

I love my band and I am already very happy I made this decision.

OMG...your post came at a perfect time for me...I am11 days away from getting my band. I kept thinking...what if I am one of these people on here who say it didn't work for them? What if I don't lose weight? What if I have regrets? Now....I see I have to muddle through the first week and wait for my prize!

Thanks so much for sharing your story....you motivated me....

  6. Today is day 10 of my Protein Shakes and I'm still plugging away :) My husband and I love the Master Chef show on TV and the baking competition hosted by Jeff Foxworthy. Well, we watched both of them last night and I have to say while the shakes are taking care of the hunger, my eyes saw "all" that food and my brain jumped into gear and said "wow, that looks so good"! I watched them and reminded myself of Monday, July 29, a date on my calendar in my IPhone that says "Regular Diet"! Definitely something to look forward to and after weighing myself again this morning I decided what I'm doing is soooooo worth it, I've lost 13.3 pounds since starting my Protein shakes. Looking forward to Tuesday, day of surgery. Have a great day everyone!

Vickie...I feel your pain. Watchined the baking show last night myself and I am on the shakes now too. It was killing me! But...we have to keep our eye on the prize! Awesome weight loss for you....super excited! Good luck on Tuesday!. Lisa
