  1. Yeah, apparently hernias are common. That would explain my heartburn. I mostly stopped with the pain meds, but still take the ketorolac for swelling as I find it bad when I get up in the morning. It feels like I am being stangled on the inside. Today is noticeably better than yesterday and my hunger is back (being still on clear fluids). We gotta hang tough through this part. It will be worth the pain. (hugs)
  2. I was banded Friday + hernia repair, and I am very sore in the port area when I get up or down, plus very bloated and have chest pressure. Hurts to yawn too big. I know we will look back on these days like they were nothing someday. Hang in there. It is all worth it. Stay positive. I haven't weighed myself.

Oh sounds great! I didn't get my garden in this year.
  4. Glad to hear! Hope you have an easy recovery.
  5. Sorry to hear that.
  6. Thanks for asking. I am better this evening than I was this morning. I am a bit weak and my calf muscles hurt if I stand too long. I slipped getting in the shower and landed on my knee, which is now swollen and turning purple. I have a lot of pressure in my chest and very bloated. How are you? Oh I changed my display name.
  7. Good luck! I'll be thinking of you.
  8. A little better since I had a nap and then a popsicle.
  9. Thanks everyone. I will hang in there!
  10. Hi Ruth, glad you are doing pretty good. I hope your family is considerate of you.
  11. Thanks so much for you reply. I just wanted to know it's normal.
  12. Hello, I just had my surgery on Friday the 21st. Since yesterday my worst pain is in the incision where I assume the port is. It's fine if I am still, but when I get up or down it burns and stings so bad. Almost feels like the stiches are ripping my skin. I don't notice any blood or swelling, temp goes from normal to low grade (99.3 ish). Is this how it felt for you? Thanks.
  13. Yep, feeling that way now with the pain in the port area and taking over an hour to drink a glass of fluid. Surgery was June 21st, so I am only 2 days out. Glad you posted this, the responses are encouraging.
  14. Good luck Mike! Lori, I am a little worse off for day 2. I am very sore in the port area when I get up or down. I hope it passes soon.
  15. Glad you are doing good. I also had a medium hernia repair.
  16. Hi and welcome! It's normal to feel this way. I did right up until I fell asleep in the OR. The wait is the worst. Good luck!
  17. Hi Alic4galaxy and Lori123. Nice to meet you. Would love to chat. I just got banded yesterday.
  18. Hi, glad it went smoothly. Do you have a heating pad?
  19. Pretty good. No gas pains today, a little sore in the left side and kinda loopy from the drugs.
  20. Glad to hear you are feeling better.
  21. Thanks so much! Now I better get off here and rest.
  22. First welcome and congrats! Everything you are feeling is normal. I felt all of those up to the minute I fell asleep on the operating table. I just got banded today and most of all those feelings are gone now. The worst part so far was the wait leading up to the surgery. I don't have any wisdom to share on life being banded yet, but this is a great place. The people here are supportive and helpful.
