  1. I'm starting to wonder WHY surgeons push the sleeve more. Is it to avoid the loooong aftercare? Maybe... When *I went in, I went in with lap-band in mind and left with a "scheduled" sleeve---- but I didn't let them screw me, I called three days later and said I want to go back to my original choice: the band!! I'm so glad I did
  2. **crickets** I hate throwing labels around & name-calling, but only a !@"*^$&¡ MORON would think pureeing a pizza is a good idea. I'm trying to be understanding here, but how can someone "cheat" and not "know" it???? Not only is that one of the reasons why we meet with a nutritionist pre-band..... But it's common sense, guys!! I mean.... COME ON!!
  3. Not yet. Lately I've been finding myself too lazy to try new recipes

  5. You wanna be ALIVE for future outings & future cruises, right?? Being able to eat the way we were able to pre-band is NOT what life is about. I think we all go through self doubt. It's normal. Good luck!!!
  6. Honestly, i hop on everyday..... BUT, the number really doesn't phase me at all, whether is up or down (ok, maybe I get a little happy if its down from the day before) BECAUSE I go by how good I feel and how my clothes are fitting me. I find that clothes are a better gauge to mark our success.
  7. Those things are EVIL!! My last kidney stone bout was about 5 years ago. I loveeeeee my doctor because when I had lithotripsy done I peed all of them out that same night. Now it's my hubby's turn next week, but it's so much worse for him because they usually inset a ureteral stent and that is almost as bad as the stones themselves
  8. Allieg8tor, I hope you didn't lift that case all by yourself!!!
  9. My top almost hit the roof last week when my mother casually mentioned to me she told one of our far cousins I had lap band. I could count on my right hand the people I told (besides my hubby, mom, ONE sister, father and daughter) and I would like to keep it that way. Although I DO regret telling the few others and in one of my posts I go into detail what happened to me with the clerk at my neighborhood pharmacy when she saw me for the first time after LB. maybe in the future will change the way I think and feel about sharing my story with others, but for now I'm keeping it hush, hush..... I just hope my mom can too.
  10. That might explain my HEAVY period last month.
  11. I'm glad you're making it a priority. When you fall just get back up again like you're doing right now... Reaching out demonstrates you want it & the support group (and us here) will hold your hand and PULL YOUR EAR
  12. Otis, simply put..... There IS hope.
  13. How many carbs are you planning to incorporate? It should be at least 20gm. Diets with little to no carbs are too harsh on the liver and maybe even the kidneys
  14. I'm ready to restrict carbs, as I sleep so much better when I do and also I want to lose a little faster and not rely so much on the cc in my band. Today, just for the heck of it I used a ketostix I had from my last Atkins fail (my fault, not the diet) and I was FLOORED when the stick showed moderate KETOSIS!!!! I wasn't expecting that, since just yesterday I had a 1/3 of a chicken roll for an early dinner. I guess because of the caloric restriction in general, the body uses fat as a primary source of fuel. Soooooo, I'm actually/not-really already on "day 4" of Atkins, according to the stick. WONDERFUL!!
  15. Did you mean to write "24 pound in two MONTHS"???
  16. My sister had the sleeve one month before me and I was shocked when she told me NO PRE-OP; however, I'd advice you to go on it to help shrink your liver so it's not in the way when they are performing their magic on you. But of course, what da hell do *I know?!! If it will help make you feel better and more at ease, I don't see how it can harm you.... If you're not keen on it, then don't, since your surgeon is the one "who knocks"<~(Reference to BB)
  17. WoooooooHoooooooo!!! Tell me MORE about this "clothe exchange" at NYU
  18. That was my Breakfast today!!!! I try to strain out most of the noodles and the egg doesn't really worry me. It's filling and tastes pretty good. This is the brand I'm currently using.
  19. You're right! That's exactly what happened to me wen my friend told me about HER surgery. I'll definitely share with her... Without gloating, of course
