    sad

Sweetheart, maybe you're not yet mentally and emotionally prepared for this. You should talk to your doctor about your insecurities. Did you speak with a psychologist? One of the questions they ask is if you have support at home.... Looks like you don't. It's ok if you wanna take more time and prepare yourself better. I wish I was close by, I would go for coffee with you and just HUG you.

    so scared help me

You'll be FINE! Trust in The Lord!
  3. My husband, who is sometimes CRAZY, sometimes GENIUS, demanded they call my insurance and allow me to stay over night. This was his plan initially, and although I didn't contradict him before the surgery, I really thought to myself it wouldn't be necessary and once he saw I was doing so good after surgery, he would say it was ok to come home the same day (plus I didn't want to be far from my nine year old). But BOY was I glad he had a freakin' plan! It worked out for my benefit to stay over night. Now, there was a woman in the other bed next to me that had the surgery maybe two hours before me.... This woman walked out the same day, ALONE, on her own accord, no wheelchair, and walking upright O.O I couldn't believe it. (Btw, she was only 40 lbs overweight- she didn't even look fat)

    Feeling a bit down:(

Keep doing what you've been doing so far.... It's working! Try to just focus on living your new life and don't think of the band and losing as your primary goal... Focus on living a BETTER life, and losing as an ADDED bonus! In other words, don't think so much about it (you're doing great) and one day you'll wake up and say: WHAT THE HECK, WHEN DID I LOSE ALL THAT WEIGHT! XOXOXOXO

    Sleep?

Use pillows to support you on your back, side, or between your legs... Just experiment with different positions until you find the BEST! I've found that laying down and getting up were the most challenging things for me. Today (Friday) is day six for me and I'm still having a LITTLE trouble, but each day it gets better!! SWEET DREAMS! <3!

    Spasms

Mis73, you've been through a LOT!! Yeah, I guess it's the muscles complaining or trying to "accommodate" themselves.. Thanks! (I just don't wanna be calling the office for every little thing. Did you also have a hard time burping? It's killing me! Did you use any homemade remedies to get rid of gas?
  7. I'm sorry you don't have a physical support system, but you have US, your virtual family and support!! Not everyone will understand your choice because not everyone has lived your life and struggles as a big person. I support you 100% in your decision! CONGRATULATIONS and keep moving forward!

Wear to and from the hospital?

They are lucky I wore PANTIES!! LoL! When youve come out of surgery, ask the nurse for the HOSPITAL PANTIES they are very comfortable (ask for a few, so you can take some home)

    hellllp

Being informed beforehand is indispensable if you're gonna be successful with this tool, and your primary source of information SHOULD be your surgeon, his staff & his nutritionist. I'm baffled they sent you home with NO GUIDELINES....! That's a red flag in my opinion.
  10. Don't know WHY my info packet has the Boost (high protein) shakes, they are SO sweet!!! But those are the best I've found. I've also tried: Atkins, Special K, and the already-made from GNC <~~~~gross!!

    so scared help me

Awwww, sweetie, I know this can be a scary thing if you've never been put down before. I was actually scared because I WASN'T scared (I never am when going under) Focus on how your life is going to change for the better, and if you're a believer, have faith, The Lord will see you through! We will all be here waiting to hear about your experience. Be blessed and be still.
  12. Farting never felt this good!! Lmaooo!
  13. i REFUSE to eat ANYTHING fat-free, as I believe the process that goes into making it fat-free and the additives actually makes those foods worse for our health. I will, however, make smart choices about what I put in my body. One thing I will be free of for sure is SUGAR. Thoughts?

    "Fat-Free" Free Zone

I believe everything you said above, when I say "sugar-free" I mean consume nothing with sugar SPECIALLY artificial sweeteners.

    blood clotting/vein thrombosis

Get yourself to an emergency room, it doesn't matter if you have insurance or NOT... They will treat you. It's better to take the bulls by the horn in this situation. Let us know when you go.

    This Is It, Guys!!

Hello, fellow BANDits! Everything went well. It's a little hard to get on and off the bed, I have some pain in the center of my chest (between boobies) possibly the band site, and some discomfort at the port site. Other than that I'm good. It helps I'm at I'm at an EXCELLENT hospital in NYC. When I press the distress button, my nurse is here before I even drop it!
