Guys, I'm here to fess up. After nearly three and a half weeks of my ordeal, I've been doing really bad. I've gotten two fills since then but I'm eating when I'm not hungry & eating sliders & drinking juices. Someone needs to kick my ass. Everyday I wake up and say: today's the day (typical fat person "determination") but I know the "day" won't come until I get serious. Gggrrrrr

Many people, my self included, find that things get easier after day 3. I know it's easier said than done, but occupy your mind with other things like reading. Also, visualize your liver getting smaller, therefore having a much easier surgery. That worked for me. Hang in there.

Missing the old way of doing things. I can't find LapBand forums easily anymore.

I only need ONE pillow to prop me up while I sleep..... I still use two (because I'm so used to it) but I don't feel like I'm dying when I only have one.

This post is quite OLD.... What has been going on with you? Why did your doctor tell yu to "go on a diet" I find that rude and funny at the same time. How about giving you a fill, like he's supposed to?!!

Why do you think you're getting stuck so often? Are you bites big? Or are you eating too fast? You might just need a little LESS than 1/2 a cc... But I would address the stuck episodes FIRST. And ginger ale... Really??

Gosh!! What a terrible situation you're in. When I read your initial post and then read the quick, subsequent "solutions" suggested I was annoyed. Annoyed because #1, you didn't give enough information for people to so simply and easily say:LEAVE HIM (actually, that's my ONLY reason) Buuuut, after you shared more information, and answered Mariasha's very important & smart questions, I can voice MY opinion. It boils down to do you love him and does he love you AND are you BOTH determined to be vested in putting in ALL THE HARD WORK it takes to safe a marriage. It's freaking hard-but possible only if there is love on both sides. He knows how unhappy you are... He probably also feel guilt over not giving you your place, and kinda pushing you to have an emotional affair, but men are too prideful to fess up- specially if its things related to emotions. Men are emotional dinosaurs (for the most part). If you think there's a slither of hope, try everything and anything to safe your union... You should start by asking HIM if he's 100% 'determined and vested in putting in all the hard work'... That includes NEVER bringing up the pass. Good luck, my dear. What do you mean "guessing"? You have not yet visited your primary or a urologist?? Kidney stone pain is the worse kind of pain there is.

WoW!!! You're doing great! Remember, the amount in your band really means NOTHING.. It's how you feel and your success that matter... I'm sure you'll get your fill next time (since you say you feel you can eat a lot more) just make sure you tell them you're battling hunger.

You are able to have a normal day. Fills are practically child's play. However, I will say, my first fill left me with a bruise that was painful and lasted more than 2 weeks to FULLY disappear. Even then, I was able to live a normal life (just had trouble getting outta bed-because I was sore). Other than that, my life was normal. Keep your plans and enjoy your day!

CONGRATS on your decision to become a BANDit (my special word for people with the LB) I'm 3 months post op and I've lost 40+ pounds. I was sad I wasn't gonna be able to eat my favorite (red meat), but I'm happy to say I'm able to eat everything and anything (for now) with the exception of tuna fish (go figure!)sooooo, don't worry about what you will or won't be able to eat for now, as we all tolerate different things at different times during our journey. It's your time, BABY!!!

I just had broccoli and chicken breast for dinner. I use a spoon from 16 Handles most of the time. I just make sure my bites are small. Sometimes, when I'm REALLY hungry, I eat while doing something else (probably not the best stragety) so THAT i can pase how often a spoonfull goes into my mouth.

Skymoon was VERY clear on WHY she lost her band. She flat out abused her band, knew something was not quite right and ignored all the red flags. I also posted about this very topic last week and how different my response, being a newbie, was to hers when something went wrong after an aggressive fill. I feel really bad she lost her band, but she is too stubborn & should have known not to wait that long. As successful as she was with her band, a lot of people looked up to her.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO. You don't "hate" yourself, you love yourself, that's why you got OUT of that abusive relationship and we here love you too. You may say: how could these strangers "love" me?!! It's because YOUR pain is & has been our pain as well. You are not alone because we have been there. No more self-loathing, little lady!
