    upset...insurance denied

That is how my insurance is. If I lost any weight it was considered a success and they would therefore not cover my lapband. Sent from my iPad using LapBandTalk
  3. Congrats! I'm sitting at 205 currently. Can't wait to make it to onederland! Sent from my iPad using LapBandTalk

    Vacation mess up

I am going on vacation the 14th and plan to take my scale with me. My running shoes and clothes are the first things I will pack. I am hoping to stay on track! As for you, I think you should remember we all make mistakes. Just get yourself back on track and put the mistakes behind you. Sent from my iPad using LapBandTalk

    Monday at 7:30 am

I think everyone is right in mentioning pain meds in their replies. Not everyone tends to think about pain meds. If you were caught driving under the influence of pain meds you would be looking at a DUI. Now to answer your question. I had my surgery on a Thursday and was able to drive the following Monday. Be aware though that it did hurt to get in and out of my car. Also, turning to backup or change lanes was a painful time. I also could not bend out to grab my car door and had to have my kids close it a few times until I consistently remembered to pull it WITH me as I climbed in.

    Concerned and Confused

Did you have heartburn prior to surgery? Like something you required meds for? You might want to call your doctor now with your concerns.
  8. went for a run again. Before surgery I would run a few times a week at an average pace of 5.2 mph. Today I couldn't run faster then 4.5 mph, but it was a run nonetheless! The run also seemed to break loose more of that blasted gas as my left shoulder started aching. It was good to get back to it! It is my goal to run the 12K's of Christmas this year.
  9. I felt a little pull around my port, but aside from that it was a normal run. Once I got going that port area pull was gone.
  10. Well I did tonight. I am 13 days post op and am heading into hell. I wanted anything to eat. chips? A Diet Coke (it's my crack) maybe? And then I stood in my pantry and spied the Golden Oreo package. Those delicious little, calorie packed Cookies were once a great night time friend. I stared at those cookies and then grabbed a can of low sodium green Beans. It was difficult, to walk away and the I remembered I just went through hell with surgery and don't want to screw this up! Also, I'm down 18 pounds! 18. That is much better then a cookie. Sent from my iPad using LapBandTalk

  12. Question: I was drinking my flavored Water with some Protein powder mixed in. I sipped it slowly over probably 30 minutes. When I was done I felt horribly full. I thought liquids passed straight through, so why did I feel so icky? Sent from my iPad using LapBandTalk

    Banaster Hell???

I am 13 days post op and found myself wanting something, anything tonight. I stood in my pantry and had a stare down with the damn Oreos in there. Green Beans were my savior. I won the battle of the Oreo tonight. Green beans never tasted so good. Lol, stay strong my fellow banders!! Sent from my iPad using LapBandTalk

  20. I am one week post-op today and I was in a tremendous amount of pain. I had been feeling good all week, so much so, that I think I over did it and paid for it severely today. Today was a nonstop day with busy stuff for my kids (movies, parties, etc). I woke up extremely tired and having a ton of pain around my port. I also had left shoulder gas pain return with a vengeance yesterday and it was still lingering again today. The pain around my port is new so it is pretty concerning. I made it through the majority of the day and called home to tell my husband we were returning from a birthday party and he mentioned work tonight. WAIT! WHAT? I swear he did not work tonight...I had mental plans for him to take the kids to swim lessons so I could take a much needed nap. Nope. Not gonna happen. I immediately burst into the tears that were threatening all day. Today really was hell. Maybe it doesn't sound that bad in writing, but it was. It was freaking 112 sitting in my uncomfortable chair at swim lessons. Mind you I almost had to ask another adult for help out of the chair due to the pain I was in. Nice. Simply nice. Almost bedtime. Sent from my iPad using LapBandTalk
  21. I am 1 week postop and here is what I did: For the first few nights I slept in my daughter's bed as mine was too high to climb in. I think it was probably night 3 that I got into my own bed with careful maneuvering. I began driving again 4 days post op. I have an SUV that I have to hitch up into a bit. I had to have my kids shut my door a few times because I couldn't lean over to close it. I've since learned to pull it with me as I get in. Getting in and out still have challenges. Try your truck first and then see how you feel. Sent from my iPad using LapBandTalk
  22. I met my coworker/daughter's kindergarten teacher for "lunch" today at Chick-fil-a. I did not order any food which wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I simply ordered a diet lemonade, took the lid off and sipped away. We were talking for awhile and she asked me, "Have you been working out all summer?" Haha! Someone noticed my 15 lbs loss! Woohoo!!
