  1. When I was first approved, they asked if I wanted to meet with them or my own physician. I chose my own because of the driving distance. So basically I meet with my own personal doctor for the 3rd time tomorrow. We are just discussing exercise ideas and calorie counts. I will meet with the actual nutritionist, surgeon, etc on Sept 16 for the first time. I think that is why I may have questions still because I haven't dealt with them personally yet. At this point I feel like I am on my own trying to cut back and lose a little weight each month if possible. I have a hard time with calories so I think counting weight watcher points are easier. Right now I'm doing the SHRED diet just to get me going because it's fast. I have only lost 5 lbs so far, trying to stay motivated and definitely excited for the band.

  2. I wonder why the surgeon approved you as a candidate with a BMI of only 30? When I did research on the band, it stated that they prefer patients with a BMI of at lease 40, or if you have a BMI of 35-40 with morbid obesity conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, arthritis, etc. I do not have the band yet, but am in the 6 month waiting period right now. Are you already at a healthy weight?

  3. Wow that sucks! I have not had the procedure yet so I don't have much advice to follow. Are you following the diet plan? I wonder why you would not feel restricted as most people say they don't feel hungry and cannot eat much. Where did u go and who are your physicians? It seems pretty bad if they didn't chart information and makes u wonder how many ccs you really have.

  4. Hello Carolina girl!!

How have you managed to lose so much weight with no fills?? I haven't had the procedure yet I am waiting for response to my evaluation form. I think this would be great to not need fills, but I thought that the band loosened with time?

    Thoughts?

they gained back their weight by eating more calories than they burned off.....why anyone with a weight problem has done that exact thing...doesnt mean everyone does however..you CAN eat better food, exercise, and let the band HELP control your food portions and just about everyone can lose weight...its a matter of wanting to lose weight bad enough to do actually use it as its intended and leave the excuses at the curb with the trash junk foods.

  5. aww that sucks! I checked with my insurance and HR and they both confirmed that the procedure was covered. Being a candidate is up to the physician. I am just under at 38 something, but I have osteoarthritis in my knee (25% gone at age 33) and I have minor issues with hypertension. I am hoping to be qualified - sent off eval waiting for a response!

Yea maybe you could drink a bunch of Water or wear ankle weights! hahaha

  6. Congrats!!! I just sent my evaluation form the other day so I am waiting to hear back for approval. My insurance also covers the procedure. I was a little bummed having to wait 6 months, but I understand it is in my best interest!

Everyone keep your fingers crossed for me!
