  1. Celebrating my bandiversary today! At this time one year ago, I was scared to death about to go into surgery. One year later and 83 pounds lighter and feeling SO much better! Only wish I'd done this many years earlier. If you're on the fence at all, go for it! It will change your life for the better!! :)

Yeah, I can definitely live with that rate, if it keeps going. And I am NOT looking forward to the TKR at all, but I've been putting it off for over 4 years now, and it was one of the main drivers for my having the lap-band in the first place. I desperately needed to lose weight before the surgery. My knee pain has improved significantly as I've lost, but so has my activity, which in turn causes more pain. It's a vicious circle - LOL! My original plan was to have it this coming August, but we'll see - I may chicken out before then. It is pretty major stuff!

For a decade starting in 1990-2000 I owned a small medical equipment company providing post surgical rehab equipment (CPM machines and vascular movement systems) for doctors here in Denver. I sat in on a couple of total knee replacements. I should never have done it. It's like being a sausage lover and going to the meat packer and watching how it's made. You're right, vicious cycle so it's a must do for me this fall.

Oh, jeez - no kidding! I'm sure if I had seen it done, I would probably never be able to have it done on myself. Yikes!!! We'll have to compare notes when it comes surgery time. ;)
