  1. My doctor didn't give me the 30 min. before rule, but did say I'm not to drink anything while I'm eating or for 1 hour after and yes I follow this rule:-)
  2. Ground chicken or Ground Turkey- You can make burgers, chili's, Soups, meatballs, meatloaf, taco's, lettuce wraps. You can make "spaghetti" by roasting spaghetti squash and making a meat sauce or meatballs with the ground chicen or turkey. Chicken breast are ususally on sale every week. Buy the family pack, divide into 4oz servings either cook at once or freeze indiv. You can do sooooo many things with chicken breasts. Throw some in a crockpot (even frozen) with some taco seasoning, a jar or salsa, black Beans, cilantro, lime juice, or whatever you lke, put it on before you go to work come home shred it and have a taco salad or a tacos. Omelets- Cook some low sod. bacon or turkey bacon add in some fresh spiniach, mushrooms and onions. Top with a little cheese and some plain non-fat greek yogurt and/or salsa Or you could do mini egg muffins with the same ingred, as above put them in a (12) muffin pan and bake for 20-30 min at 350. These are the perfect make a head Breakfast. Grab, warm, eat:-) Deli Meat- Turkey or Chicken rolled up in Romaine lettuce leaves and a slice of cheese with some mustard or lite mayo, or Okios greek yogurt dip For Snacks, Dannon Light Greek Yogurt- 100 cal 13g Protein 1-2oz of cheese depending on my calorie intake and protein for the day I may add in a Quest Protein Bar, approx 180 cal and 20g p cottage cheese with tomatoes cucumbers soaked in apple cider vinegar with onions....summer thing:-) Raw cauliflower with Okios Greek Yogurt Dip 60 cal. sugar fee pudding cup
  3. Bandista, I couldn't agree more! I'm the same way, I don't want to be too thin, I want to have some substance to me:-) BTW, hell to the yeah on your success! I love your outlook and attitude! Honestly if more people could stop getting so hung up on the scale and take a step back like you and see the transformation of their body, they would be a lot happier and more successful! You're doing a fantastic job! So happy for you!!!
  4. Great attitude Bandista!!! Way to stay the course girl!!
  5. Whoohooo girl on the 44lbs!!! Thsts amazing!!!
  6. So today I was just curious to see what weight I would need to be at to fall into the"normal" range according to the BMI chart...Don't do it, I shouldn't have because it just pissed me off...haha. According to their chart I need to lose another 13lbs before barely making it into the "normal" range and then something new came up called the "Waist to Height" ratio???? Never heard of this so I went along and according to this number I fall right in the middle of healthy with the range being .4-.5. How is this possible?? So if I were to lose another 13 lbs. I would meet the "normal" criteria for BMI but then on the other end of the spectrum I would be considered "unhealthy" For the love of geez, this is all a bunch of BS in my opinion. I never set my goal weight according to my BMI because I know if I weighed that, I wouldn't look right. I guess it all depends on your build??? I think this is just a bunch of garbage but sadly enough people live their lives around these numbers and so it just infuriates me that you get such contradictory infomation. No wonder our society is in such turmoil regarding weight and socially "acceptable" perspecitives, you can't ever get a straight answer. Just thought I would throw this out there for discussion:-) LOL
  7. That's awesome! Find as many NSV's as you can along your journey to keep you motivated! You're doing a great job!
  8. This is just my opinion based on my own experience but if you're only consuming 700-900 calories per day on a regular basis, this could be cause for the scale to sloooow down, or hault, but like TMF stated it's not all about the # on the scale, typically when the scale stops moving you're losing inches!! I would talk with your doctor and ask them what your target caloric intake should be. I know when I first started I was only eating around 800-900 calories a day and while I was still losing my Dr. got onto me and said that if I didn't start trying to get approx. 1200 cal per day then I was going to hit a huge plateau, because my body would go into starvation mode. Play with it a little, increase slowly and talk with a NUT but I think anything less than 900 calories per day is way too little.
  9. Nope not mean at all, just saying it how it is and there's nothing wrong with that!! You're absolutely right this is ALL about you! You have to feel good and be healthy for YOU, no one else can or will do it for you so don't worry what people think. I've seen this issue posted so many times and honestlyI would do the same thing......if you don't agree with me fine, but you better support my decision or there's the door. Head up and stay the course, don't let anyone influence your decision for a healthier happier life. I wish you all the best in your decision!
  10. @@betty_s I am on pinterest and would love to try this one out! Pinterest is where I found this one and modified a litte:-) How are things going? I see you are down 26 freakin'g lbs. girl, so I'm guessing pretty well:-) You rock lady!!
  11. All the above responses to this post are spot on. It is your decision and your life. There's no wrong decision but make sure it's what YOU want. In my situation I didn't even research any of the other surgeries, in fact I didn't even know what the sleeve was until I went in for the group consultation where all procedures were explained. I'm 5'1 and weighed 289lbs., I'm now almost 1 year post op and am down 142lbs, weighing 147lbs, so I've lost almost 100% of my weight so whatever doctor is telling you that you have too much weight to lose for the band to work is full of shit!!:-) Anyone know matter what your starting weight has just as much of a chance for success with the band as they do anyother procedure. Yes, you will have to work harder, and no it may not melt off as fast as some of the other surgeries but it's the least invasive and most flexible option. Good luck on your decision and just remember this is for YOU!!
  12. Omgosh!!! This is the best NSV, I've seen. Way to go!!!!
  13. I'm so glad you're having such a wonderful trip!!! Please please please will you take and post pics for me of the amalfi coast? I want to go someday but for now I'm living through you;)!!! Thx for the daily recap, so cool!! Have an awesome day tomm!!

Season with your fav spices. Kc is known for its bbq so we have some awesome bbq seasoning so I used Jackstack. Sautee a slice of onion in just a dab of fleishmans light butter. Once burgers are done cut in half. Take tortillia and layer with ketchup & mustard then lay the burger you've cut lengthwise, top with onions, pickles and pepperjack cheese. Roll up and bake at 350 for about 7 min or until tortillia is crisp and cheese is melted. DONE AND DELISH!! Total cal 390 Total Protein 37 g Next time I'm only going to do 3oz patties I could finish the 4 oz. There are several variations you can do with this. Next time I'm going to season with taco seasoning, the sauce will be okios greek yogurt dip salsa jalapeno, layered with pepperjack cheese and avacado slices and a splash of lime juice;)
  15. @@proudgrammy LOL. That's funny! Thanks so much for your support! You're doing quite well yourself. I love your signature line:-)
  16. @@BandedCandace You've found your motivation girl!! " I want to tell everyone who has doubted me MAINLY my ex to shove it and laugh in their face and say HAHA YES! I can do it!" For me one of the greatest motivators is showing someone who doubts my ability that I can and will and do it!!! In regards to your diet. I know you said that you're switching things up. Can you give us an idea of what you eat and your portions sizes so that maybe we can help? Are you getting enough Protein in every day? Are you getting in all of your Water? I know this sounds odd but depending on what type of excerise you're doing you may not be consuming enough calories so your body is holding onto everything causing the scale to not budge or go up. I'm not sure if it sounds like you need a band adjustment or a calorie adjustment. Working out the way you are could be causing you to consume too little calories will make you feel like you're starving. Just a thought. I'm sure you've evaluated it but just in case I thought I'd throw that out there. As far as everything else goes, remove negative people from your life! They're sucking the joy from you and that will only keep you feelling defeated. Like Lisa said, switch gyms, not because you're hiding from him but because you don't need to put yourself through that, PLUS just think how great it will be when you run into him the next time after not seeing him for a while and dropping xx lbs. and being like yeah, you f&*%ed up:-) (which we already know he did but now it's in his face:-)) You've done a great job and should be VERY proud of your accomplishements. You seem like a very strong person so keep your head up!:-)
  17. @@2muchfun I'm loving this tag thing btw:-) I LOVE to cook, always have and like you said I love the challenge of being able to make healthy substitutions but still make a great dish and no one knows the difference but me. I love to entertain and feed people, but I love it even more now that I'm not feeding them crap:-) "I watch it to see how many recipes I can modify to fit my lifestyle" @@Wendydarling19, I'm a Diners, Drive-In and Dive junky! Love it!!! I know this is going to sound odd but I watch it to see how many recipes I can modify to fit my lifestyle. It's challenging and so instead of doing a crossword puzzle or something this is what I do :-) I love Friday nights, it's the marathon:-) Swerving a little off topic, let me add that your comment is one of the reasons you are so successful. I know for me, it's enabled me to maintain for the last 1.5 years. I'm no chef, but I'm a dang good cook. Watching these recipes and finding creative ways to substitute EVOO for Crisco/veggie oil or use egg beaters in place of whole eggs, and using nutrient rich veggies in place of processed flour, sugar and rice is one of the keys to keeping this lifestyle new and current. Sorry, back to your regularly programmed material

  23. @@BlueMoon~T DANG IT!! IT's not working for me...... Does it automatically come up in blue text? Man these things drive me nutty:-) Thanks for your response!!
  24. Hmm. I haven't experience this but the first thing that came to my mind is maybe dry skin Patches? Are you drinking enough fluids? Have you maybe eaten something different to cause an allergic reaction? I'm sure you've already thought of these things just throwing it out there:-) Good luck, I hope you find the cause!
