Today is my one year bandiversary! Weight day of surgery was 345lbs this am 315.8lbs
Not as low as my goal of 175lbs but I'll get there one day at a time! My band and I haven't always gotten along and as of right now she's in timeout with some Fluid removed- she was making her presents known too well with causing me pain. Hopefully next week she can get ungrounded and get her fluid back and start acting right again!

Have you have any success in getting any relief?
-
I went to the local support group here at the hospital but I'm the only bander as the hospital doesn't even do bands! Would love to meet up and share war stories!
-
Had an appt with the nurse practitioner today and she put 5 cc back in the band!
Thanks everyone for listening and letting me vent!
This was a wake up call for me and I'm going to use this band as the tool it's intended and get this weight off!

Thank you all for your kind words. I should get a call today from the nurse practitioner that has been seeing me. I just moved across Country so this is a new practice to me and I had never met one of the doctors until last night in the er. He said they have been moving away from the lapband and the long term care of the band. That makes me mad and sad because I had to jump through hoops to even get them to take me on as a patient and just yesterday I paid $180 for their 12 support group sessions and 6 exercise sessions I had to agree to to be seen by them!
I have not lost a whole lot since surgery. I was 345 at surgery and was 333.3 yesterday - feel that's a loss I could have done without all stress of the band.
The band is definitely not for the weak hearted. And it's no where as easy as they claim in the commercials. Even after the band you will still be dieting. I have even bought the coffee bean extract and some other diet pill. Something I would never have expected to be buying trying to lose weight post band.
Sorry for the vent. I'm frustrated.

I get stuck all the time due to I'm horrible and eat to fast to big of bites. This is totally my fault.

They took 8 cc out so now my band is basically empty this makes me feel like a failure.

I've had the band since November and this is the first time this has happened to me. I think the issue was I ate before I went(which is fine to do) and had a stuck episode so I think the swelling from that plus the fill was just to much.

Had a fill today. First one since December. I had .4 cc put in- so I'm now at 8.4 didn't even know I had 8 thought I only had 7.
Anyway I can't keep anything down. All I have tried is Water and I have been sick a dozen or so times since the fill about 4 hours ago. I have never had this happen before. Should I try and ride it out or go to the er and see if they can remove some Fluid?

Definitely sounds like gas! I had the same thing. Walking an the gas x strips helped a lot. A lot of people say to use a heating pad (I didn't have one to use)
I had a sore neck and jaw figured it was from the Anesthesiologist.

Congrats IrishFlower78! How is everything going for you? I am getting banded November 26th. I'm from AZ, however I am traveling to Mx to have it done because of my insur. Getting every excited counting down the days. Hope you and everyone else are doing well.
I am doing good! I see the Doc for my first post op appt Tuesday and get my first fill 12/9!
You will have to meet up with us the next time we meet! Two other bandsters and I met on Tuesday and talked for about 2 hours! It was nice meeting them!
Are you on the November thread?

Hope all the new bandsters are doing well! Good luck to those having surgery soon! I had my stitches and staples out yesterday, THANK GOD! It seemed like the staples were just digging into my stomach with the slightest move. I can finally put neosporin over the incisions and some Vitamin E oil. I am finally cleared for mushies for the next 2 weeks, then solids for 2 weeks, and I go in for my first fill. Started on a Protein drink today, it's the kind that comes in a big jug that you mix up yourself. I wish I could find some pre-made, I will have to look on the boards to see what others are using. Next week for Thanksgiving will be a challenge. I am going to my sister in laws on Thursday, and then my dads on Friday. I will still be on mushies, so I know I can have mashed potatoes. But I did not tell anyone about my surgery except my husband so not sure how to explain away the fact that I am only eating 2 oz of mashed potatoes LOL My weight is down from my pre-surgery weight but I really don't except major weight loss until after my first fill.
I like Premier Protein shakes. You can get them at SAMs club or Walmart

I was banded Nov 7 and will be planning to move to Billings sometime early next year and need the name(s) of some excellent Band Doctors!
Thank you!

I've been wanting to start sit ups but haven't done them yet because I don't want to mess the port up. I want to start toning ASAP so I dot have as much loose skin once I get to goal.

I seen that post! I was just thinking its more dancing and not pulling/pushing type exercise. My instructions are no strenuous exercise for 4 weeks to keep my core "quiet".
So I guess that's my answer

I had my band on November 7 and want to do Zumba tonight.
I still have the steri strips and see the surgeon next Tuesday Nov 26.
Don't know if I should wait to see him or if I should be ok? I know to stop if I start hurting- wouldn't be the first time I walked out.

I may not make it as I have my first fill late that morning, it's been delayed and do not want to make you wait. Hopefully others are coming.
Oh I hope you can make it!
