  1. I'm not an expert but it seems like you should wait until you are fully healed from the section which is 6-8 weeks. I have had three c sections. As far as breast feeding, I think the biggest concern will be supply since you are going to be restricting calories. If breast feeding is important to you I would hold off personally. I had a major surgery when I was still breast feeding my now 7 year old. I waited until she was one. I had my surgery 8 days later knowing that if I dried up that I had breast fed for my goal of 12 months. She ended up nursing for three more months before self weaning but my supply was never the same. I'd wait six months personally and spend that time with your baby and healing.

  2. I promise you won't be sorry... like you I would lose most of the weight and it would come back faster than I lost it... and I too thought for the longest time that WLS was "the easy way out".... I was wayyyy wrong on that... it is actually one of the hardest diets you will ever be on... the LB is only a tool ... you still have to work and make different eating choices and that... I think if you're like me the hardest part about it for you will be re-training your eye and brain that the smaller portions are actually large... I got mine April 8th and I am super happy after words even though I haven't dropped as much weight as I would have if I'd had the gastric bypass it's way better to get the LB cuz it's less invasive' date=' shorter recovery, smaller scars and slow and steady is the best pace to have... I'm ready to be able to exercise again now but my surgeon got me waiting 6-8 weeks for that so for now it's just walking around and that is still making a huge difference. Good luck and I promise you won't regret it!!!! Do you know when your surgery date is yet?[/quote']

Congrats!!! I'm honestly going to miss working out! I love to lift weights!

  3. There was a cancellation! Had my consult moved up to may 22!! I'm attending the seminar tomorrow. Requested my pcp records to be sent over to the surgeons office just in case he needs them for documentation of weight loss attempts. I'm 4'10.5. Currently weigh 193. I've been as high as 223 and as low as 143 over the past 19 years. I need to weigh myself with clothes. The sweet spot for me would be about 197. Getting excited!! Hope it doesn't take long to get my approval and a spot on the surgery schedule!

  4. I could have and maybe should have done this eight years ago but I just kept listening to others tell me not to take the easy way out... I'm done. I have put everything I am into losing this weight and keeping it off. I can lose most of it but it always comes back!!! Consult on June 5th. Sounds like I meet all the requirements with my insurance carrier, united healthcare military west. I hope it proceeds quickly and smoothly!!
