I've been on the phone all day trying to figure out the actual requirements set by triwest... According to my surgeons office tricare requires a 6 month diet plan that is supervised by your pcm, but then when i called the triwest hotline they say that there is no time limit set forth.. I really feel like all the customer service people aren't educated at all on any of the insurance coverage, because all they are reading to me over the phone is what I can access on the tricare webpage under coverages. I'm just getting super frustrated!
I just went through the process with triwest - united healthcare military west. It was 4 weeks from consult to surgery. Message me if you need any help.

I just had my surgery by dr Neal on the 17th of this month. My experience so far has been great. Do you all attend the support group meetings?

Obesity is a disease and we are dependent on the chemicals.I'm just going to add this: Why is it that in the 80s the average size if a woman was a size 8 and now it's a size 12? Do you know the chemicals that are in even the healthiest of foods? Our pork and chicken are stuffed full of arsenic' date=' estrogen, caffeine and anti-depressants so it is more appealing and available in higher quantities for a lower price. This is just 2 market items! TWO!
Add this fact to our own addictive behaviors and you have a nation of people who are eating themselves to death.
We are to " blame" but we sure have a lot of help!
The strong ones are here trying to make a change.
This is my rant on government conspiracy! (I did a 12 pg research paper on the subject. Sure is enlightening! )[/quote']
This has to be influenced in some part by genetics because obesity does not plague all Americans. 38 percent of adult Americans are obese and most Americans are eating the same diet.

Hi all. I couldn't find the posts at first either! I was banded on the 17th. It's back to work for me tomorrow. I'm still having quite a bit of incision pain but other than that I'm all right.

Congrats Rebecca! I am set for Tuesday June 25th. I am nervous but trying to stay busy and keep my mind off of it. They told me I could eat dinner but nothing after 12 midnight. I was surprised. I think I am going to eat a light dinner. Worried about the nausea though. Now that read about the sneezing I am worried about my cough. I have had bad allergies with a cough for a week and not looking forward to that pain. Keep up the good work! Thanks Allyson and congrats!! My only advise is to have a small pillow with you and pull that close to your tummy prior to a cough. It will hurt though, just no getting around it.

I'm in the Portland metro area
Ahh I live in olympia wa. Thinking of going really south like Medford area.
-
Well I'm biased to Oregon because that's where I'm from. If you live in the metro area' date=' you're only a couple hours away from beaches, hiking, skiing, etc. It's a beautiful place.[/quote']Where in Oregon? I am seriously considering relocating to Oregon from Washington.

I'm only a week post op but 16 pounds in 11 days seems pretty amazing!

I agree the wait was the worst.
I'm almost a week out and the part I was least prepared for is the pain of the incisions. There is some muscle pain and deep shooting pains at first with certain movements. That surprised me.

Congrats on your band. Glad you are doing well. I am getting so nervous. I get banded on Monday the 24th. I am like you' date=' I didn't have to do a pre op diet. I am sure by tomorrow I will be freaking out.[/quote']I'm sure everything will go great! Can't wait to hear your update!
As for me... I sneezed twice today and omg the pain!! Like deep muscle pain... Shooting pain!! Ugh. It's better now. Thankfully. I still get some pain when I sit up or lay down on my own. I hear that will last awhile.
The liquid diet is going all right. I added vanilla activia yogurt today. I have been using 2 Protein shakes per day, about two cups of broth, 1 or 2 applesauce, one cup coffee with non dairy Creamer, and plenty of Water or Gatorade zero. I think starting tomorrow I will add one more Protein Drink as I am going back to work tomorrow.
First post op appt is on Tuesday. According to my scale I'm down 9 pounds from the surgery date.
