  1. I just read the article, I hope all is well, Davies said some pretty good stuff and I agree 100%. Everything will work out for the best, keep looking for the silver lining, start with the fact that you were able to pay for the surgery, then look at the fact that you came through with minimal complications, then focus on the fact that you have jump started your weight loss and now you've gathered enough courage to go to the hospital, which means is all going to get better from this point on. As someone else stated check with your insurance company to see what they cover and do one more, give the hospital your insurance information and let them process the claim for payment. Keep your spirits up and everything will work out fine. We are here for you. Keep us posted.

  2. I understand where you are coming from. I will be starting my pre-op on June 1st. I was advised by my Doctor to drink to replace 2 meals a day with a Protein shake and eat a dinner entree like lean cuisine, etc. I can also have sugar free drinks like chrystal lite, etc., sugar free popsicles and sugar free Jello. I'm starting a few days early to prepare myself for what's to come. I did the Slim Fast diet years ago so I know I can do it but I'm allowing myself a few extra days to adjust. Good Luck! Keep me posted on your progress.

  3. I can understand your concern with the port pain but keep in mind that it will be well worth it in the end. I am starting my pre-op on June 1st instead of the 6th which is the date my Doctor gave me, just to try to lose a couple extra pounds for myself. I am excited about the surgery too with the exception of the tube being placed down my throat but I will be sleep and my husband said he will be with me all the way so that helps. Did you try those sugar fee pops I've been reading about? Check out the Pre-op and Post op diet forum they had a few extra items listed. Keep me posted on your progress.:)

  4. Don't be worried. Throughout this site, I've seen numerous articles of people having their surgery in different locations, do a background search. Don't let others discourage you, try to find you a new support group within your family and friends, it seems like you may have chosen the wrong one's originally. If you can' find support their then find a support group at lapband.com in your area. Good Luck!
