    I'm sorry to hear about your situation. I myself have never experienced this but I always told myself that if my husband cheated on me I would leave him. I say that without knowing how I would really react, one never really knows what they will do given a situation until they actually go thru it. All I can tell you is to pray, continue counseling and listen to your heart. Do what makes you happy. Everyone that I know that stayed together for the kids ended up resenting the whole thing so do what you feel is right within your heart. Time can heal all wounds if you let it. In my mind I say get even but in my heart of hearts I say pray on it. Which ever you choose I'm hear to offer a shoulder to cry on. Anytime you're feeling down just think of your accomplishments. I'm proud of your success and don't let anyone take that away from you. You've worked hard to get where you are today so enjoy each and everyday. Best of Luck to you!

    Who has kept it a secret?

    Hi Tyler! I kept my surgery a secret from everybody except my husband and kids because I didn't want to have to deal with all the people who just don't understand. I didn't want the stares, the negative comments, all the questions,etc. I like to keep my life kind of private. I share info on an as needed bases and to me that is not something that everybody needs to know. I don't want to hear from the people that think my weight should fall off because I am banded (those are the ones that are not educated on the band and don't know that we still have to work to lose weight). The list goes on. Some of my family members have negative things to say about the band or people that they know have or are considering the band so its easier for me to keep it secret. Don't get me wrong I love my band and I wouldn't trade it for the world but I don't feel the need to shout it out for all to here. When I need to talk about something related to the band I come to this site as my bandmates are here and will listen to me and give me sound advice. Best of luck to you!

    OMG!!! Dinner Party Disaster

    Thanks for sharing. Since I have good restriction I can no longer eat pizza either. I know that some foods that weren't problem foods before good restriction tend to be problems later. I'm glad to know this because I am going to a wedding and reception in June and nobody knows I'm banded so I will have to be very careful with my food choices as I have a tendency to not do well with beef, bread, pizza, over cooked chicken and some pasta. I'm sure the list goes on but I haven't ran across the other items yet.

    Don,t drink when eating

    Coltonwade your weightloss numbers are great. What do you eat? As for drinking I have great restriction now and I made the mistake of trying to take a sip of water with this type of restriction well just like Coltonwade said I was SICK, I have never done that again. You eventually get used to it, just continue to practice. The saying goes practice makes perfect so you will get the hand of it. Good Luck!

    Slow Losers Unite!

    Hello everyone! Bluebike, I have to agree with Doddie, you need a slight unfill. We are expected to consume upto 4 ounces of food with a meal. Unfortunately junk foods can pass through the stoma pouch easily and have a tendency not to bother us but they do stop us from losing weight. You will have to focus on getting your protein in and try to exercise for 30 minutes a day, it doesn't have to be a consecutive time frame do 3 ten minute walks a day or something. Go to a store and purchase the small bread plates (I found mine in Dollar General they are styro foam and cost on $1 for 45 plates). If you have to take lunch to work then go into a dollar store and find you some 4 ounce baby storage containers (you know on the baby isle) and use those to help measure your food. Make sure you try to log in everyday the foods that you eat because you can see where you are forming a pattern. The weight should then start to come off but make sure you get your water in as well. I don't think you need to have a fill when you go to the Doctor I would suggest you keep the appt so that they can do the slight unfill but you may want to talk to the receptionist first because they may have something sooner. You can do this - you just have to learn how to work with the band. Keep us posted. Best of luck to you!

    What are you doing with all your clothes?

    In the past year I have given my old clothes to one of my girlfriends but she never wears them because she keeps gaining weight. So now all of my new size 16 clothes that I will soon have to get rid of as my new clothes are now being purchased in Juniors size 14. I have decided to take them to a consignment shop as all the new 16's came from Lane Bryant and Macy's, I figured I could get some cash for them and use the cash in the consignment shop to purchase size 12 clothers that I like (because that's my goal size).
  12. Now I use to be the one that went to the bathroom 3 to 4 times a day, since I've started eating right and the smaller portions, I'm lucky if I go once a day. I think I do go at least once a day or every other day but I don't have a lot of waste. I did purchase some fiber powder and after sitting and thinking about my bowel movements I probably should be taking some. I'm scared that it might make me have to go while I'm at work and I don't want to do that. What time of day should I take it?

    Scared of baggy skin!!

    Hello all, I have considered the fact that I will probably have some saggy skin because I am so short and weighed so much but I am losing weight slowly and exercising at the same time so i figure they will compensate one another. My insurance will cover PS if it is medically necessary and we all know that it can be considered medically necessary after WLS but I'm not sure if I want it. I mean I still have to much weight to lose to even consider the possibilities but to tell you the truth I'm scared of PS. I would really have to research it before making the decision. For now I'm just going to continue to workout and lose weight and see where I am in about another year.

    Countdown to Onederland!

    Hello everyone, I want to join you while I countdown to onederland. I've got 12 pounds to go and I can't wait. I'm going to shout it from the top of the building when I get to 199.9 Just joking, I will tell it though as soon as I hit 199. I am so excited to be getting so close. I wanted to try to reach it by Memorial Day (I'm going to stay hopeful because anything is possible). I'm finally going to start with my personal trainer today, we will meet 3 times a week. I hope this will get me to onederland just that much faster.

    Hello, I'm glad to see everybody is hanging in there. Candy, it will get better go ahead and find some motivation to get started on an exercise plan as I have been eating properly and exercising and the weight is now finally coming off. I can actually say I am losing at least 2 pounds a week. Badonk, I'm glad to hear the scale is moving for you too, keep up the good work We can do this!

    My Friends/family need me to be overweight

    I took a different approach, I only told my immediate family which consist of my husband and two kids. I didn't want any negative feedback or all the questions and dumb remarks. I'm sure my mom would have been supportive as she had WLS in the past but I just couldn't bring myself to tell anyone. I don't like my life being the focus of people's conversations as I have enough people at work that want to talk about me. My private life is just that PRIVATE! I've heard enough people talk about WLS and the band (especially) that I know they are not educated and I just don't feel like being the one to explain it to them. To many people think its a quick fix and we here know that it's not, we know that the weight only comes off if we work to get it off. Good Luck!

  20. I have to agree with Denise and Molly. It's one thing to have good restriction after a fill but it's another to not be able to eat solids. I posted a similar thread in reference to a tight fill and the people basically advised me to see if it gets better in a couple of days and one bandster said that she kept hers so tight where she couldn't even keep down mushies that she was hospitalized for dehydration among other things so be very careful. If you can't even eat mushies then you should go and see your Doctor for an unfilll. Best of Luck to you both. Keep us posted.

    Hey that's great I should be doing the same. I am giving away all my winter clothes that are size 16 because this coming winter I will either be in a 10 or a 12. I think I want to send mine to a consignment shop too. I guess I need to start looking for one in my area.:thumbup:

    Fat Girl thoughts

    I'm proud of you Gloucester for making what I consider the right decision. We have to keep in mind that we got the band for a reason and that we have to learn to live with it. When my birthday comes I like to drink and party and dance all around so food is usually the last thing on my mind. Just like at our Mother's Day dinner we are going to have on Sunday, I am going to eat my normal small 3 to 4 ounce meal wait an hour and then have me a couple of cocktails (I know that's where most of my calories are going to come from) and then I'm going to dance like never before (dancing is a great form of exercise so I will need to do a lot of it to burn those calories from my drinks). I can see that you are well on your way to making the right decisions when it comes to life and your band and I'm so proud of you for that! It takes a lot to overcome old bad habits and you are doing great. Keep up the good work. This will truly turn out to be the best birthday you've had in a long time, I'm sure of it. Party like you've never partied before because this birthday is going to be extra special because you are also able to Celebrate a new you.:thumbup:
