    I didn't have to take a sleep apnea test either. From what I've read on this site some Doctor's request it and some don't. I guess it depends on the individual and maybe even the insurance. Best of luck to you all.

    Congrats Allis, Dr. Schroder did my surgery. He is good. I was moving about the same evening of my surgery I just kept walking the floor. It will be a breeze. I had very little pain just mainly discomfort. Make sure you have a heating pad for your stomach to help with the gas pains, my pains weren't that bad because I made sure I moved around and whenever I was laying down I used the heating pad, it went away in about 4 to 6 days. I only took a week off and that was mainly to rest (you know take a break from work).

    Hello Everyone! Thanks for the support NJ! I'm doing better today. I wish I could get outside to walk but it rains at least 4 to 5 days out of the week. The sun is not suppose to shine until Sunday.

    Anyone having less bowel movement

    I may be a little off of your subject but I find that I stay regular (I go at least 3 times a day), I'm not able to eat more than 5 ounces of food at each meal but I get in a lot of vegetables, I have a new craving for fresh collard greens now and will eat them as a snack since a snack has to stay under 100 calories. I also enjoy string beans and broccoli at least 2 days a week. My main vegetable though is the fresh greens and I eat them probably 3 days a week.

    Slow Losers Unite!

    Welcome Becca, Hello Bandmates! You are not alone in your exercise attempts. I need some more motivation to get me through it daily. I love the walking one mile in home workout but I haven't been able to get past 2 evenings a week. I have a husband and two kids so when I get off in the evening I have to prepare dinner. I've even tried cooking double meets and larger sides and vegetables to allow me a day or two off from cooking to workout but somehow it just isn't working. I am trying to reassure myself that as of today I will drink either a shake or smoothie for my breakfast, eat at least two pieces of fruit a day and walk one mile at least 5 days a week. Why is this exercise thing so hard for me? The walking show only takes 19 minutes to do one mile and it makes me sweat so what is my problem? I really need to exercise, I want to get these numbers down. I was banded in June of 2008 and my numbers are still way off. I think I need a fill so I guess I will try to call my Doctor's office today. Wish me luck as I am going to try to buckle down today.

    Protein Shake tastes like card board!!

    I purchased several packets of the unjury powder to try them, I only tried one and that was the vanilla/plain (that thing was terrible). I tried it in some oatmeal and couldn't even finish the little bowl. I'm glad to see that I can at least try the chocolate and make it like a banana split. I need to get more protein in anyway I can. Any suggestions for the strawberry unjury?

    Welcome Sharon, Hello all my bandmates! I am glad to see that all is well, I am so proud of you all, it appears that everyone has good news to report such as weightloss, inches lost, etc. I have not been on the scale in a few weeks so I don't know what my numbers are as of today, I can tell I've lost some inches at least. NJ, Those pictures look great. I really like the second choice without the ruffles, you look like you are in a 20. That dress shows off your figure and you should share it with the world on your wedding day. I am a firm believer in the less fabric the more curves you show the smaller you look. You should probably try on some regular clothes now as wedding dresses have a tendency to run at least one size to small which means you are probably in a size 20 now. I read one of the post that one of you wrote about trying to find exercise tapes, if your cable service has an on demand service see if they have a free exercise program, I have Comcast her in Virginia and they have a free exercise channel that I can turn to and start, stop or pause anytime I want. It allows me to do a one mile walk in front of the television as well as some Taebo, you can also do yoga but I'm not ready for that. I'm proud of each and every one of us. We are uniting and doing our thing. Thank you all for the motivation, it truly helps me on a daily basis.

    NJ, What's the problem? You seem to be on target with your weight loss we were banded around the same time and my results appear to be around the same as yours. You have to learn that big is beautiful that you are beautiful. This is a life long process for us all and there is strength in numbers so remember that you are not alone that all your bandmates are here with you. Have you ever seen a bride that didn't look just beautiful with a glow? I know I haven't, you will be the highlight of the wedding. Continue to work on your weight loss daily, take baby steps, the weight will come off eventually. We didn't put this weight on overnight so we shouldn't expect to lose it overnight either. Be thankful for the weight you have lost it could be worse you could have gained those same pounds. I think that you have some self esteem issues that you need to work on. Learn to love yourself and the skin you are in. We are all here for you. If there is anything I can do to help you let me know.:wink2:
  11. I like to eat string cheese but I have been eating it with about 4 crackers, do any of you eat your string cheese with crackers or are you eating it by itself?

    Will we ever be happy? ( compression garments)

    Hey Vegas..... I wish I could be so lucky to lose even close to 100 pounds. Great job! On the other hand it sounds like you are still lacking a little self esteem. Own that new body you have, know that it looks good. If your stomach is showing a little and the jeans are comfortable then find a different shirt one that will flatter your waist . Make sure that your bra pushes you up and that it is the right size because according to the show love yourself naked that can play a part in the whole stomach thing. Check out the stores they have a lot of cute shirts that will slim down your mid section and make you feel sexy. As for the spanx you were talking about they are great you can get them to cover up stomach, tone your legs and firm your butt. My coworker that lost over 100 pounds says that sit ups and crunches will help get rid of the tire, she does about 100 a day and her stomach looks good. Keep up the good work and remember beauty is only skin deep.

    Is anyone keeping track of their calories? I have to admit that I have not been counting calories, I've never been able to. I brought me a journal to keep track of what I eat (which is not a lot) but I still have not been able to even stick to that. I even went so far as to purchase a larger purse so that the book could fit in it but I still left it at home on my dresser. I'm thinking maybe if I can convince myself to log what I eat and to exercise some I can't say more because I haven't done a thing then maybe the numbers will drop. I just really want to be able to shop in a regular store. I've lost 26 pounds and it has been rough but I think with all of your insight and support anything is possible. I'm so glad to be back on LBT.

    eatting out

    My coworkers treated me to lunch yesterday at Applebee's in which I ordered the boneless buffalo wings and a house salad, I then ate 2 pieces of the boneless wings because it is all breast of chicken along with a small saucer of salad with very little dressing. I was able to eat off it the whole time we were at lunch, nobody suspected anything (they don't know that I have the band) and I took the rest home, which my husband was more than happy to eat. I did the same thing a couple of weeks ago when my husband took me to Red Lobster I just use a saucer (bread plate) and put on it what I am going to eat and then I push the rest to the side it can either end up being my lunch and dinner for the next day and then I give the rest to my family or I will just take it home to the kids it all depends on what it is. So in a nut shell the saucer is your friend. Breast of chicken and steam veggies are always a good choice and can be used for many meals once you take it home. Good luck.

    Unjury Protein Powder

    I just finished purchasing the unjury powder because I need the protein to help me stay full longer. This is my first time so I ordered one of each sample and the travel pack of the strawberry sorbet since I love all the other strawberry flavored protein shakes. I want to be able to add the plan to my oatmeal to see how it taste. I'm really searching for breakfast and lunch tips so that's why I got the unjury to spice up my meals and add some protein.
  17. I am trying to find something good and filling to eat for breakfast that can hold me to lunch. I have been trying oatmeal and I'm sorry to say that it doesn't hold me until lunch. What do you suggest? I apologize, I'm sure someone mentioned it early on in this thread but this thread is very long so I might have missed it. Help me Please!

    Slow Losers Unite!

    Hello Everyone! Thanks for starting this thread over, the other one was way to long. I am joining you because I too feel that I am a slow loser, and I don't know when the last time I walked or exercised. I'm trying to convince myself to get my butt out there and at least walk. It doesn't help the fact that I have all the exercise equipment that I need to tone up & slim down but I lack a workout pal, working out alone is a bore to me. I need you to help me get motivated, since we are here to encourage each other I thought I would join in. When I logged in today it said I had last logged in Sept 2007 so maybe thats part of my problem, I need my lapband family so I guess it's my way of saying I'm back. We can all do it, as long as we are not gaining then we are doing good, we just need to continue to support one another and bring our ups and downs to the forum. I miss all of you and thank you for being my support team. We are all truly special because we have a gift (the band) We will make it work. I'm back for good.:smile:

    Hello Ladies, you will both due well. Marywalker20 your date is almost here, I wish you the best of luck, everything will be fine. As for you mamato3 the timeline that MaryWalker20 gave you seems average to me. I don't know of anyone who had their surgery at St. Mary's having a shorter time frame, so just keep in mind that all good things come to those that wait. You will feel like the day will never come but it goes go by fast because you have so much that you will need to do before the surgery that you want have time to count down.     Liquid Vitamins ????

    You should definitely purchase a heating pad. Despite what someone said about the Flinstone vitamins, I have been taking them everyday and they are really working for me on occassion my husband has taken them too. As for them not being for adults, I beg to differ since on the label it states the daily percentages for adults and children, true we will not get the same percentage of daily vitamins as children but we get a generous amount. Go to the store and read the label for yourself, you will be surprised, it's the only vitamin I've been able to stick to since I can remember, I've always struggled with keeping up with my vitamins but now I've got Flintstones. I haven't been able to find a liquid vitamin only the liquid tylenol and that works when you need it so make sure you get a bottle. Oh don't forget to get a child size spoon and fork set it helps when you are able to eat, you generally will eat less because of the smaller size utensils. Good luck! Keep us posted.

    Just checking in on my Virginia Bandmates. Congrats to thinner1 for the weight loss and congrats MaryWalker20 you are getting closer to that big day. Keep up the good work everyone. I'm now incorporating excercise into my daily diet and it is working really well.

    What am I doing wrong?!?

    I hope all is well with the new bandsters. Your weight loss to date is great and is right on target with your band date. Try incorporating some walking, and monitor your food and calorie intake. You two are very close to my weight loss to date and I've been banded for 2 1/2 months but I feel great about my weight loss. I've entered the September to Thanksgiving challenge that losingjusme started along with a lot of other bandmates and it has actually helped me. I'm now incorporating more physical activity even down to washing my car myself. I take chewable vitamins daily and they are increasing my energy a little more each day. Life is good today because of the band. Slow weight loss is great for me because it just means I will keep it off. Be thankful for your band and learn to work with it. Keep up the good work, it all gets better after your fills, it may take one it may take 5 fills but you will lose.

  25. I think my problem is soup, I eat it for lunch and then I'm hungry before I cook dinner, I need to find something else to eat for lunch. I've only had 2 fills and tryiung to hold off on getting another one, I believe I can wait a little while longer if I stop eating soup and eat some protein then maybe I will do a lot better.
