  1. I am a lapband semi-fail- I weighed 398 at my heaviest and stood my ground for 4 years at 320... In Feb 2014 I had DS done, Weight in as 311 (after 2 week liquid diet) and as of today 243. I'm struggling with eating and then the acid reflux from not eating, but mostly I'm satisfied with my loss and have changed my eating habits (mostly). I still try things I like only to find I throw them right up, i.e. candy, and meat, but keep fish and veggies down perfectly. wish i had a "now" pic
  2. Hey everyone, I'm in Salt Lake City, I was banded 2/21/07 and have been using the Fill Center USA site, but this seems to have more locals for me so I thought I'd check it out.
  3. When I started to feel well enough I started walking. Everyday, 2 times 30 min a day, went to the dr and found I had gained 6 lbs. I cried!!! Here's what the nutritionist told me, since muscle weighs more then fat, and I've not been using those muscles for an (undisclosed amount of) time I was actually building up muscle and to cut down the walking to maybe 30 min a day and more strolling then walking pace. After 9 days, I really started to lose weight, 7 lbs then 10. Don't worry, don't get frustrated, we're all learning together : )
  4. Try to realize the "normal" consumption of calories is approx. 2000, as a bander you need to watch those calories. I'me 6 wks out and my highest consumption of calories was 732. Think about how many calories you ate pre-op and compare it to now. My doctor told me if you eat the nutritious stuff first and snack on low fat yogurts you should be fine. Talk to your doctor.

It's weird, it's there but unless I'm feeling around my tummy I don't feel it. As the swelling goes down after surgery so did the tenderness and I haven't really thought about it much. I'd love to lay on my stomach and sleep but until I'm a little more comfortable with it I'll stick to laying on my side or back.

I found just about the portions I give my son I have. I was watching Rachel Ray a couple days ago and she was serving up some plates of food and my first thought was "holy cow, I couldn't eat 1/4 of that". I'm pretty new to this, only 6 wks out, but my outlook on food is really different. I was a big burger, potato fan but currently the thought of blended burgers doesn't appeal to me...lol I'm still eating mostly soft foods, yogurts and protien puddings, but I've begun to add shredded chicken. Family support helps alot! I even take lunch to my husband everyday, sandwiches, burgers, fast food whatevers, and it doesn't bother me, the urges are gone. hope this helps
  8. My family physician at Highland Family Practice got certified with Fill Center USA about 6 months ago and has a flouroscopy and all in his office. Very convenient for me & my family since it's only about 2 miles from my house.
