  1. @Natlie10493.. I am going for my "first fill" today after having all the fluid removed from my band. I have had it out for a month now to let my stomach and my esophegus rest. I have been banded for 4 years, I went through a severe depression, which I have depression anyway, but I learned how to manipulate the band and gained a good portion of my lost weight back. What made me have an unfill is that I had pretty much the same symptoms you described and was on my way to the ER when the pain somewhat subsided. I think/know that my band was too tight as I was so anxious to start losing weight. Today is my "first day" again. I am in a much better frame of mind and will start to take advantage of posting and reading peoples experience. I thought I could "do it on my own" but that's how I got fat in the first place. Good luck to you!

    Beware of the UN-fill !!!

Hi Bandsters, I'm new, but not new... I had problems with my band also. I had my surgery 4 years ago. I came very close to goal weight, 155 was the lowest I had gotten. Then I believe I may have had to much fill and began getting sick. One month ago I had my fill removed and was scheduled to have the band removed next Weds. May 15th. I have just decided against it. I called my doctor and spoke with the PA. She had a band, then had the bypass done. She keeps insisting that I should have that done that it is easier than the band. I don't want to. I have an appt. tomorrow for a fill. Sooo.. I have it in my head that I am beginning all over again. I need the "tool" to help curve my appetite, although in the month with no fill, I didn't gain any weight but nor did I lose any. I hope that I am making the right decision to try it again. Just thought I'd share my story. You all sound so inspirational and I really do need to keep reading the boards and positive affirmations that they bring! We're all in this together!
