Hey Spot! Congrats on your date!!! Marilynn offered the ninth to me this morning, but I really needed a friday appointment. Sunnysea: Yeah, my little guy explains how I feel about this whole ordeal...wishing it was done a year ago, ya' know what I mean. Do you think he and I will make it, five weeks out?? Hi Isabellesma, Thanks for asking about my appointment. It went fast, I would have preffered to do it over the phone, but I guess he likes to see us locals if we live close enough??? I called today and I got my date...May 18th. Sorry to hear that you are so tired. How is everything else going? Are your incisions healing well? Take it easy if you can, hang in there. You have lost 14 pounds in two weeks? Good for you, keep it up! What is the hardest part to deal with so far?

I just got my date...May 18th...I don't think I can wait that long!! I just want it over and done with.

DrewsLou, You are my hero!!! I have followed your story for a while, I am sooo proud of your accomplishments! Way to go!! I din't get my surgery date because Marilyn (I think was her name) or was it Paula??? Anywy, I didn't leave the office until like 5:30 and everyone was gone for the day?!?! I am thinking of calling soon to see if I can get a date???

Woofay, They forgot about you!!! That is terrible!! I have had that happen to me before. I should of said hello. My mind was going a hundred miles a minute, I just can't focus on anything right now except getting this done! You were just walking out as I was going in. I haven't really heard about this storm? Are we to get alot of snow? You should drive down and just stay...to be safe!!!?? Parker is a nice facility, I had my Hysterectomy there last year. I hope to have my Lapband done there too. I am sooo excited for you and Tater Bug, I put you two on my calender...I'll be thinking about ya'

April 9, 2007 Today was my consult with Dr. Kirshenbaum. It was quick, I didn't really have a lot of questions for him (thanks to this site). I didn't get to make a sugery date, Paula left for the day. She will call tomorrow to schedule one. I am hoping for a Friday so I can work on Monday??? Time off of work is my big concern, I hate to take any time off. I don't know how I am going to deal with that?? I found out that my BMI is 50, which is higher than I thought. I calculated 48 or 49. No big shocker, I told her that I deffinately feel like 50 BMI. I am suprised that I didn't cancel my appointment because I don't believe in myself. Too many failed attempts. This will be the last straw. My family is very supportive. I wished the surgery was over already and a few months behind me.

Hi DynamoMini, I plan on attending the meetings. I don't have a surgery date yet (I should find out tomorrow) but I look foward to the support group. How is your pre-op diet going so far?

Hey Anita, I think I saw you today at Dr. K's office! I over heard someone say something about Vegas and Josh Groben...I thought could that be??? Anyway, I was sitting in the corner hiding (I had a white T shirt on). How did your appointmnet go?? I didn't get to schedule a surgery date because Paula left for the day. I guess she will call me tomorrow?? A few more days for you!!

Hi Trina, My appointment is later this afternoon (4:00), I wil fill you in when I return. Everyone says the Dr. is amazing and I will have full confidence in him. I wish I was going in for the surgery today, but I must wait my turn. How are your incisions healing? I hope you are feeling better and getting around well. Twelve puonds down, looks like you are doing GREAT!! 12 pounds gone forever!!! How is the after diet? Are you on liquids? Hang in there!

Thanks for the infoTater Bug! I am hoping to get a surgery date on a Friday and return to work on Monday. I can sit and take it easy if I need to, I just can't really take much time off. Woofay and Tater Bug, I am soooo excited for you two, this Friday that is great, I wish I was joining you!!

I meet with Dr. K tomorrow, not really nervous and I don't really have a lot of questions to ask because I have been reading as much as I can about the surgery and the recovery and what to do and what not to do. I wish I was going in for the surgery tomorrow. I am hoping for a Friday surgery, that would give me the weekend to recover?? The least amount of days off the better. ( just thought he was cute!)

Tater Bug, I just wanted to let you know that I will be cheering for you on Friday! I have my consult tomorrow with Dr. K.?!?!?! I hope I can get a Friday surgery date. Did you make your surgery date at your consult appointment? Was your appointment with Paula over the phone or did you have to make a seperate office visit for that? I am trying to figure how many days of work I will need to take off?? Do you have an appointment on Thursday and on Monday too? Sorry, I know a lot of questions. Thanks

I am going tomorrow for my consult with Dr. Kirshenbaum, I wish I was going in for surgery tomorrow! I wonder how soon I can get in after the consult? Do I need to have another appointment the day before surgery and the day after? After reading about Dr. K here, I am very pleased with choosing him. Thanks to everyone for all the great information!

I FINALLY got up enough nerve to call and schedule an appointment for a consult! My consult will be April 9th, 2007 a 4:00. I hope I don't chicken out and cancel:phanvan !! I called 3-26-07, I was hoping that I could do a phone consult, but Marilyn said he will only do consults over the phone with out of state patients...boooooo! When I told my husband, he was okay with it. I think he just wants me to be happy. My children too. My oldest son said he thinks I should go for it because it will make me happier! Their support is awesome! I have been talking about having it done for a long time(years and years). I chickened out about four years ago. I was going to have the gastric bypass. My insurance even said they would cover 100 percent, I would just have to pay the $50.00 co-pay! Oh well, I chickened out and now I am going i to talk to Dr. K about the lapband and my insurance will not pay for anything now, so I will be self paying(I hate the sound of that). One week away from the consult, I log onto the website every chance I get to read, read, read. This site is so inspiring and infomative. I don't want to chicken out this time, so I am looking for all the support I can get!!

Hi everyone, I just made the call and have my consultation, April 9th. I have been going back and forth so many times with the decision wether or not to get the surgery. I came close to getting the Gastric Bypass surgery about five years ago but I chickened out, then my insurance would have paid for everything, now I will have to do self pay. My biggest concern is that this will again be one of the many, many, many weight loss strategies that I have falied at. I don't have faith in myself that I will be able to do what I am supposed to do and that I will fail at this too and not to mention the financial loss this would be if I did! I have read alot on this site and it sounds like everyone has such great success. I hope I can handle it!!:phanvan
