    Stupid head hunger!!

I'm struggling at work, with my morning coffee sitting at my computer I 'think' I need to be munching on something. I just feel the urge to snack. My toughest part of the day is the mornings. Even with a good breakfast I never feel quite satisfied.

    ProtienToGo

Where did you buy them? I could use something like this.

    Allergic....

I had the same thing happen to me. Little blisters where the strips were and itchy oh my goodness! It will stop eventually, hang in there.
  4. I never step on my scale, don't like the numbers. Anyway this morning I decided to see how I was doing since my shirts and pants are feeling loose. The first time it showed I had gained 6 pounds, (WHAT) I knew that couldn't be right so I stepped off and zeroed it out and tried again, It now showed I had lost a pound. In all I tried 6 times got 6 different readings with a difference of 7 pounds. I should have stopped at the lowest reading and been happy not confused. I think I need a new scale or new batteries.

What exercise do you do at home?

I have done Tai-Chi it looks like it would be so easy but it is a lot tougher than I thought it would be. I feel so awake and relaxed at the same time when I'm done. We also have a treadmill and stationary bike.
  6. The first time the doctor tried to give me a fill he stuck me twice and moved the needle around and around said he could feel the port but couldn't get it in. Boy was I bruised. I had to go back three days later and do it under floroscope. My port is tipped up so he was hitting the edge of it. I go for another fill on Monday with one of his assistants that comes to my town. Kinda nervous they won't hit it and will have to go back to the doctors office out of town. I am trying to do it locally rather then taking the whole day off of work to drive the 2 1/2 hours to the doctor, for a 20 min visit then drive 2 1/2 hours back.

    Bathroom probs

For some reason grapes or eating an orange helps me the best when I am having trouble going.

    name your lapband?

Mine is Tony, it sounds like I have a tiger in my belly, with all the gurggling going on and sometimes is very loud!

What's on your goal bucket list?

I want to go backpacking in the mountains (of course there are none in northern MN) I want to go canoeing in the Boundary Waters again I want to get off my CPAP (although I am very thankful for it) I want to chase after my grandbabies I don't want to be the fat one in the group anymore I want to feel confident in myself I want to like what I see in the mirror I want to love myself plus many more.......
  10. I had a good experience with my sleep study. They gave me something to relax a little and hooked me up, felt like I was in a sci-fi movie with all the wires everywhere. I slept for awhile then she came in and put a CPAP on me and finished out the night. The goopy stuff washed out of my hair easy enough. I do have sleep apnea, and really love my machine, I sleep so good, and feel human in the mornings. It is the first thing I pack when we go overnight somewhere. Took it to the hospital when I had surgery. We even bought a marine battery so we can go camping (in a tent) and it will last for at least 5 days before it needs to be charged. I have anxiety issues with feeling like I can't breathe (I mean really bad) so I kind freak out when I think about trying to sleep without it. I want to be able to go backpacking and into the Boundary Waters canoeing again, kinda hard to do that with a huge battery to carry, so I will be very, very happy when I lose this weight and hopefully correct the sleep apnea. But my CPAP has been a life saver for me and I am greatful for it.
  11. I had my first post op appointment. Doctor was pleasantly surprised I had lost 16 lbs in a little over two weeks. Bad news: I was going to get an adjustment, he tried several times, could feel my port but couldn't get the needle in. I could feel him pushing on it and the spot is very sore. Now I need to go back on Tuesday, another day off work and a two and a half hour drive one way to get xrayed/floroscope (sp?). He said it might have flipped, but has never heard of that happening in just two weeks. Anyone ever had that problem so soon after surgery? I really don't want to have to have surgery again so soon, I really have a head time coming out of it. I used up my time off for the first one.

    First post op appointment

Oh and Bob (my car) is getting a new windshield soon

    First post op appointment

I was able to get a fill yesterday. Yay! My port isn't flipped but it is tipped so they have to go in at an odd angle. Hope it stays where it is at and doesn't move more.

Sad couldn't get my fill today

I am honing back today to get an X-ray to see if my port has flipped. I have had my band for three weeks and couldn't get a fill because the surgeon couldn't get the needle in. Can't believe I'm having problems three weeks into this.

    First post op appointment

Thanks for the encouragement hot butterfly. I also got hit by a rock on the way to see my doctor and cracked my windshield (top to bottom and side to side, with several branches off the main one) on my car that I got two months ago. Needless to say I have shed a few tears, seems like it always comes at you all at the same time.
  16. Today has been the first time I am really questioning 'have I done the right thing by getting my lap band?'. I don't know if it is hormones, the weather or if all the excitement of preparing and going through surgery is done and it has finally hit me and the little voice in my head is saying what were you thinking?. I am scared I can't do this and will fail 'again' at another attempt to lose the weight. I will work through this, it's one of 'those' days and I needed to tell someone who understands what I'm going through. Thanks for always being there.

    UnJury/Protein Powder

I really like the chicken flavor, get tired of the sweet taste of the other kinds.

    new recipes for mushies

I thought this sounded gross, but tried it and is wonderful! Fat free cottage cheese drizzled with honey, yes I said honey, it is sweet and salty. I find I crave this now. It is sooooo good.
  20. I am recently banded 8/6. I am trying to figure out what exactly restriction feels like. Do you feel the fluid ( I am on liquids still) go through? Or when you drink too much at a time it kinda hurts in the breastbone? I also have a lot of gurgling in my stomach and colon. Gas pain. I named my band Tony because it sounds like I have a tiger in my belly. Anyway if someone could give me some idea of what it feels like for them I'd really appreciate it. Thanks you guys are awesome.

What exactly does restriction feel like?

Thanks for the link jim1967. I'm going to print that and reread it often. I am having a tremendous amount of gas pains and at first i thought it was hunger growls. It definitely isn't because these are very painful and I would drink more to try get them to ease up but only made it worse. Hence my question about restriction. Even sipping water was starting to hurt under my breastbone.

What exactly does restriction feel like?

Thank you everyone that is the answers I am looking for. I know everyone is different and I was wondering what each is experiencing. Keep them coming.
  23. Tomorrow is the day! Just waiting for the call with the time I need to be there. A little nervous had some kind of bug over the weekend, stomach still feeling funny but better then yesterday.
  24. My surgery is scheduled for Aug. 6th, I plan on going back to work on the 12th. I don't have access to a microwave at work, just a fridge and a Keruig coffee maker (i use for hot water). I am wondering what I will be able to bring to eat/drink during the liquid stage and the mushies stage to keep satisfied during the nine hours I'm there. I work in an office with one other person who is very particular about the office smelling like food when the clients come in. Can you all help with some ideas. I use to keep candy, crackers and chips in my drawer for snacking. I won't be doing that anymore.
