For my FLMA procedure my place of employment requires 30 days.. however i did not know this and only gave them 2 weeks to complete the procedure..( and it was a hassle) my doctors office kept me out for 6 weeks due to where i work... I was told that FLMA truely can't be denied because if it was they would have a lawsuit on their hands.. however i would get it into the company sooner then later if you can because like my HR department .. people think they can play god with other peoples time and moneys.

I feel that if my old pcp was still my pcp he would be thrilled.. everytime i would see him he would say "Jen we should talk about this" and i would say " no .. just one more time on my own" no matter what i was in for.. my new pcp (because my old one closed his practice for a better opportunity) told me AFTER i went to the seminar and initial consult with my surgeon .. he said " well i don't really push wls but since you were discussing this with dr. headly i will support you" i would like to run into my old pcp one day to let him know.. i think he would be happy with my decision.

I like your topic Jenni. I too am finding the weight loss is slowing down and it can be a little disappointing as it was coming off at a spectacular rate for a while. So now is the time to keep your eye on the prize and not sweat the slow down or fluctuations. My accomplishment is basically that I have lost enough weight to just be a regular overweight person. Medically I am still obese' date=' but culturally or socially, I am a normal run of the mill fat person. And what I mean by that while I'm not thin..not by a longshot...I can now fit into an airplane seat and buckle up comfortably. Plus I don't spill into the seat next to me. I fit into a booth in the restaurant again. I can sit in tighter spaces again, and most importantly, I live in NYC and take public transportation everywhere. No car for me. When I get on the bus or subway, I no longer see the horror in other rider's eyes when they think I might try to sit next to them.
For me, that is a wonderful accomplishment.[/quote']
Not only is that wonderful go that's simply an amazing accomplishment so happy for you!

So tomorrow is my 2 month bandiversary! i feel like i have come a long way.. the way i feel.. how i eat... how my clothes feel.. i recently went back to work on June 10th and while the scale is still moving it has gone slower.. so i said to myself okay.. that's prolly normal, give my body time to catch up or something... I have had a few NSV's at work to make up for it and well just simply amaze me and some of my co -workers... I am able to get up with my alarm and get to work.. not feeling as tired or sluggish before... one of our providers told me friday "Jen you need to buy new shirts these are swimming on you" .. and the best accomplishment yet.. we have a set of stars that are two full sets.. before i would huff n puff and have to stop to catch my breath so i avoided them like the plague... i got up them with not so much huff and puff! I love it! The little things definitely help keep my motivated and once again i stop to ask myself "why didn't i do this sooner!" Thanks for letting my post my wonderful accomplishments thus far!! What are yours?

my dr originally wanted me back 8 weeks out...in the end it was only 6 ( i had a trip at the end of may or i would have pushed for a week sooner) however i am glad i had those weeks off because for the first 2-3 i wouldn't have been able to do much at work anyway

Thats the place to be in the summer !!!! I had a day before pre op diet as well.. i had asked my nut at one of my meetings with her and she said my dr. just wanted his patients to lose the set weight loss he asked of us the say of our initital consultation.. which was only 10 pounds..and that was for the duration of 3 months.. i TRIED to do low cal low carbs .. some days were better then others.. i feel like if you make little changes now during your process you will do fine! Also i know for me after my surgery.. it was tough just drinking every hour.. i had no desire for food ( and i watched the food network as well) for about a week or so..
