    Surgeons in Phoenix

I had surgery with Dr. Hilario Juarez at St. Luke's Medical Center 2 months ago. Amazing doctor and staff! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. Hi! I was wondering if Un-filling the band pre-surgery is necessary. I'm submitting all my papers to the insurance this week and I was wondering if I should request an unfill in order to prepare for the surgery. Right now my band has 5.5 cc of saline. How was your experience with your revision? Thank you! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. Hi! I had my lap-band revision to sleeve exactly 1 month ago. I'm super happy and I feel more active than ever! I'm trying to get as much Protein that I can but I'm still find it difficult to eat much. My starting weigh was 175 and I'm at 158 right now. I haven't lost any weight in more than a week now so I hope I can break this stall... Overall great experience and my incisions are beautifully healed. Pokemon GO

Hi! I'm 5 weeks out and starting to get more active. I'm a huge videogames fan and I just started to play the new Pokemon Go game in my phone and I'm quite impressed with the game but also with how much I'm walking because of this!!!! The more that you walk around the more Pokémons you can find!!!! So for all you nerdies out there that want to step up your exercise, I totally recommend this game! Good luck and catch'em all! Pokemon GO

Pokémon Go is a free-to-play augmented reality mobile game for iOS and Android devices. The game allows players to capture, battle, train, and trade virtual Pokémon who appear throughout the real word. What makes this game unique is that it uses your phone’s location services and camera so that you can catch Pokémon in real life. That is, when you walk around the streets of whatever city or town you live in, your avatar moves inside the game. So finding new Pokémon and checkpoints for the game actually requires you to get off the couch and walk down the block. Also, different Pokémon live in different areas of the world; for example, water-type Pokémon are found near Water. Right now I'm in San Diego and I got some cool ocean-type Pokémons! Here is a quide of how you play super simple! http://www.idigitaltimes.com/pokemon-go-beginners-guide-catching-battling-and-everything-you-need-know-544262 Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

What my band should have done.

Same here! I had my revision June 6th and I'm just so happy with my new life! I'm not hungry at all, I eat a tiny bit and I'm full, and I don't have to run to the bathroom with that aweful pain in the chest after having one bite of chicken! This is night and day! Band to sleeve....insurance question

Hi! I had my revision from band to sleeve June 6th, and yes, I had to good through the whole process again. I have BS of Califirnia. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. I was sleeved June 6 as well and I've lost 16 pounds the first 2 weeks. Just like you, I haven't loose any weight since then and yes, I'm frustated. I think I need to get more Protein in, and eat a little more. Today I ate 800 calories for the first time and had 60grs of protein. I plan to continue this way and be patience until the scale moves again... Good luck to us! and hang in there, I know how this feels Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Smoothies

I mix half of a banana, frozen peaches and 1 shake of vanilla muscle milk 32gr of Protein (11oz) and it tastes like a milk shake! Twice a day and you get 64grs of protein. Blueberries are nice too. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Today is the day!

Thank you! I'm doing great and enjoying life so far. I lost 16 pounds the first week but now I'm in a stall and my body refuses to loose weight, sigh. I know I need to start eating more and getting more Protein but is been kinda hard eating for me. I'm really comfortable drinking shakes, but I'm in the soft food stage now and I have no appetite at all. I hope my body reacts and I can star loosing again. I guess I need more calories in because right now I'm probably at 300-400 a day. My advice would be: things will get better! First days are really uncomfortable and the incision where the port was still bother me. Walk walk walk! To get the gas out and drink lots of fluids the first week! As a comparison with the lap-band, the sleeve is the real deal! You will feel no hunger and BIG restriction after a couple of bites. I wish I had this done in the first place and I have no regrets with the sleeve! I do have tons of ideas for the liquid diet and the soft food diet so let me know and I can share some with you! You will do great! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    8 week post op

Hi, same here. I'm almost 3 weeks post op and I lost 16 pounds the first week, and nothing after that. I'm taking care of my Proteins and fluids but I don't really eat a lot. It is really weird that my body refused to loose weight. Any recommendations to beat the stall? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    I'm at a major stall!

I lost 30 pounds of water! When I lose 30 pounds of fat I'll be happy Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Hi buddy! We were sleeved the same day and I feel your pain. I've lost 16 pounds so far, but absolutely nothing the last 5 days. The doctor changed my diet to mushy foods today and he told me that probably my body went to starvation mode (less than 500 calories a day) and the metabolism get super slow. Also he advised to get more calories in and get at least 60 grams of Protein. Now I can eat pretty much any type of lean meats mashed so I need to step up my protein game. Also, Premier Protein shakes are 32grs of protein, 2 of those and you are set. Let see if this works! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Blue Shield of California

Hi, I was approved with Blue Shield of California PPO plan and they did required 6 months of diet appointments plus all the requirements mentioned in those guidelines. I think the BS of CA HMO Plan does not require the 6 months diet, but for PPOs is still a requirement. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App H-M-O plan. 18. Hi! I'm almost 2 weeks post-op and my doctor did the lap-band removal and sleeve at the same time. I'm feeling great, but I do have some pain in the incition where the port was. The doctor told me that the port was placed deeper into the tissue and that was kinda difficult to remove. Other than that, I feel really good. Freaking port, not even there anymore and still causing problems, sigh. Good luck on your journey! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Calling all June '16 sleevers!

How long ago did you have your surgery?I'm sorry you are feeling that way. I had my surgery in a BCBS Center of Excellence so I totally trust their knowledge and their diet care. There is any way you can find a local doctor or NUT that helps you? I just think that no having any proteins for 5 weeks does not sound right. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
