That's awesome that the gas pains are gone. Good luck to you in your recovery!

Best of luck to you, everything will turn out fine. We'll be seeing the weight loss posts soon!

I think she will be completely supportive when you drop all that weight. Or, if she is also a large person, she is going to be very jealous! Either way, if she is a really good friend, like Missy said, be firm and let her know that although she may not agree, she could keep it to herself. You might let her know, that you have heard her side now, and she doesn't really need to continue to push the issue.
Something else i thought of, if she is also a larger person, she may already be jealous of your movements to make a better you, who knows. Best of luck in getting it all ironed out.

I'm not banded myself, but congrats on making it to day 5! I have heard of folks being quite hungry, and also have heard of those who aren't so hungry, it's just a toss up person to person. Good luck to you.

Hey man dont sweat it. Do they not support you be ause they dont understand what the procedure does? Or do they just think you should be able to do it on your own? Or may e they are just concerned for you having surgery at all similar to how my wife was until i fully exained it to her. Regardless they will support you when you are dropping double digits!! Go for it anyways without their support.

Imo, if you have done your research and know the pros and cons then stay away from negative topics. If you understand the risks and are ok with them, keep your head filled with the positive stories.

God, may you guide the hands of the surgeons that will be banding these good folks tomorrow. Please give them a quick recovery and bless their lap band journey. Amen!

Thanks Jackie, I think i may have to scour the forums for all the different responses, which i don't mind, since the place if loaded with info, and i'll probably learn even more. However, for this post I will go first.
Head Hunger - In the past when i have defeated head hunger whether one time, or for even one day was when i kept myself busy with something I liked. I wished I was then strong enough to constantly hold it back but I was not. However, with some of these techniques plus the band, I believe i can do it. So:
Issue: Head Hunger
Response - get busy with a hobby. (mine is woodworking with my scroll saw)

Hey everyone, I thought it might be a good idea for me (and maybe others) if you could share what issues you experienced along the way, and what tips or tricks you used to fix them or help you along the way. I realize that the Number 1 answer to ALL questions is "Call you Doctor" and/or "Call your Nut". However, sometimes it is difficult to get ahold of them or the situation doesn't really call for it. Here's what i am thinking. I want to make a list that says, If i get stuck - try these ideas to help:
For example
If i get stuck: A) try to throw it back up B)try to sip a sprite to throw it back up C) hang upside down like a monkey. etc etc
You get the point. See this way i don't have to constantly hit the forums for every little issue. Obviously my above example may or may not have good or bad ideas, it was just an EXAMPLE.
So, if you feel like helping, please tell me what issues you've had and what has been successful in helping. After I compile this, any of the newbies that come along, I can email it to them. Perhaps it will be a big help. What are your thoughts. Thanks.

I am not a doctor, but consider this... The vagus nerve comes from brain stem and part of its path is on or around the top of the stomach. Perhaps a tiny squeeze aggravates it enough to cause a headache! Honestly i dont know but it is a thought.

Great job on your preop diet and good luck with your banding.

I don't know man, if you got a HOT date, why risk any issues? Regardless, have a good time.
