I use Dr Wellborn too. I was banded April 5th, and have lost 17 lbs. I lost right at first, but now it's a a fight! I'm ready to get my first fill, not till May 21 though. Dr. Wellborn uses 10cc bands.

Just had my 4th fill, up to 8cc in a 14cc band, hoping for some restriction this time! I lost 9 lbs in two weeks, down almost 30 lbs since surgery 2 1/2 months ago! Yay!!!

I agree she should try to lose by eating healthy and exercising, but if she can't keep the weight off, then go for the band. I was banded on April 5, and I wish I would have done this a long time ago. My entire life has been a struggle with my weight, and as I look back I was big all thru my 20's, 30's and so on. I'm now ready for the new me!
