  1. I have Psoriasis it is also a skin disorder and is genetic. Also it is an autoimmune disorder. I don't take a pill I take a shot and thankfully was able to keep it up during this process. The only way that weight contributes to the disorder is in the fat folds of the skin, it gets worse so I am looking forward to that being eliminated some or all for that matter. It is also effected by food and stress so if the new way I eat and if I'm not as stressed that would help too. Good luck with yours.

  2. Have you tried Syntrax Nectar fuzzy navel flavor it taste like an orange drink it is not milky or have an after taste they have different flavors. I've had fuzzy navel and caribbean cooler I liked the fuzzy navel the Caribbean cooler is to coconutty and has an after taste. But you can order samples I believe. I get it at BariacticAdvantage.com. There is a similar website that comes up when you type it in google it is bariactric choice.com. They don't have it so make sure it is BariactricAdvantage.com. I think you can even find it on Amazon too

  3. I don't know about most people ,but I was hungry out of the gate. Only thing was I could barley get anything down. When I started having mushies it was all she wrote I had to get things back under control again which took awhile for me. But I'm back on track now. Never had a problem with my pills though even the pain meds which are long I cut them in half just in case. Good luck

  4. I did not lose much of anything on my pre or post-op. It was most defeating but that is the way it happened. I got my first fill 2 weeks ago and the scale is finally moving, so I guess it takes sometime for some of us. Everyone is going to lose differently, so just because it not not moving now does not mean it won't move later just keep doing what your suppose to be doing. Good luck

  5. If I had one regret it would be that I did not get this done sooner. I'm 47 and have been over weight since I was 25, I went through a major depression. All I can tell you is that I had all kinds of second thoughts and fears before having the surgery. I was scared it would not work for me or I would fail at it. But I was so ready I had to go through with it. I was banded the 28th of May and have lost 17 pounds since and I can say I'm glad I got it done. Even if something happens and it does not work I at least tried. But I do believe you need to want it like Carolina girl would say. It's all in the "want power". Good luck

  6. I can't see why there would be a problem laying in the tanning bed. There could be something to do with the healing of the incisions, but other than that I wouldn't think there would be a problem. The best thing though would be to ask your Dr. to be sure. Maybe the people at the tanning bed would know too.

  7. I had a question. I have had one fill, I have been able to eat anything. But I have noticed that my first bite of dense food for the day I'm always getting stuck on. After I get stuck once then everything else goes down fine. It took me awhile to figure this out, because I kept switching to just liquids after. Is it possible to get stuck on green Beans one day but not the next. Does anybody know why I would be getting stuck on my first bite of a meal? It has to be dense food though mushies go down fine. And this is just not in the morning. Would I not need another fill with this going on. I don't stay full for 4 hours on a cup of food. Thanks for your help

  8. Ok I'm going to show my ignorance here, but I'm dying to know. Now that they are classifying obesity as a disease what things will that help to change? And when does it all start, now? Thanks for you input.

  9. It took me about a week before I felt somewhat normal, I was never in excruciating pain, I only used the pain meds for the first few days, after that I was just uncomfortable, but the port pain did act up from time to time and it did hurt bad sometimes the port pain lasted about 3 weeks. I could have probably done a job like yours by day 5 or 6. I would suggest taking it easy what ever you do.

  10. What is a good app for keeping track of your mileage, for lack of a better term. I have an IPhone I don't know if that makes a difference. I'm not up on all this kind of stuff. Thanks for any input.

  11. About 10 days after surgery we went over to a friends house over night and did some running around, in and out of the car, walking around, up and down some stairs. I felt good but still had to take it easy. It was only for about half the day, but it still made me tired and sore. So depending on the activity's I would just take it easy and don't be surprised if you get more tired and sore than expected. But the food could be an issue, I was able to take my own stuff, but we we're there over night too.
