I just got a fill and I'm on liquids for 2 days. I went to the fridge and had forgotten about being on liquids and grabbed the deli chicken meat and started eating it then it felt like it got stuck and it felt like I had to burp but if I did something would come up, there was mild discomfort , it finally went down after a few minutes after I took a sip of tea.(no sugar or caffeine Lol)I had this same thing happen when I was on mushies except I was eating what I was suppose to. It happened about 3 times. Is it a stuck episode or am I over eating or something. Can someone enlighten me? Thanks ~~~Stephanie

Does anyone's Port hurt weeks after surgery?
stept04 replied to Deed2u's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same issue, for a while I was concerned, but around week 4 it settled down. The only thing I have to watch is my wire bras and jeans when I wear them together and go to sit down it will aggravate it sure as anything. Mine was mostly on my right side, and once in awhile I would get a twinge on the left. I know the one on the right was my port. I don't know why it hurt on the left. Yours should go away soon. ~~~Stephanie ~~~Stephanie -
To "eat" or not to "eat"?
stept04 replied to deleteme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My Doctor sent me home from the hospital with Isopure to drink it is a clear Protein drink. So, you may want to check with your Dr. like mis73 said. He may want some protein in that liquid. Good luck ~~~Stephanie -
I was on clear liquids after surgery. That included clear Protein drinks not the milky ones those fell under full liquids. Did your Dr. tell you whether or not to drink Protein shakes? If he said yes I would assume he wanted them to be clear. But to be sure you should call. They wanted me on The Isopure, nasty. I could not tolerate them I found there second choice much better just not as much protein, they were nectar, fuzzy navel flavor, it is really good. I think unjury has some clear also but I'm not sure. I bought mine online at BariactricAdvantage.com. Good luck ~~~Stephanie

I just got a fill from my Dr. yesterday and they mentioned that if I was going to fly either get some Fluid removed or not eat or drink anything 2 hours before and up to 2 hours after. It has to do with the air pressure in the plane because your band is pressurized and your band will feel tighter than it is. I know there is a lot of different answers so the best bet is to ask your doctor before you fly. ~~~Stephanie

I had a problem logging in yesterday too. I never could log on all day yesterday and then today it was fine. ~~~Stephanie

Is this what being stuck feels like
stept04 replied to utkscvol1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's what my episode felt like except that if I did burp something would have come up with it. It was like the food was stuck in between my breast and would not go down, but it eventually did. I just got my first fill so I'm new to this. Was that like a PB or was I full or something else. Can you tell? It has happened like 4 times on soft foods. ~~~Stephanie -
low carb yougrt with a lot of protein?

Labwalker, Is that plain? -
Got my first fill so now will just wait and see how this one works. The tech said it may take 3 or 4 times. Ater she looked at me under fluoroscope she said it may take sooner because he used the 10cc instead of the 15cc he usually uses.

I only had diarrhea on the 3rd day then it turned into constipation. I have read were people do get diarrhea, liquid in liquids out. Maybe you could use some Imodium AD, or better yet your Dr. might could call something in for you. I would think if it gets real bad and hurts you might need to call your Dr. Good luck ~~~Stephanie .

I know I've seen on here the right amount of food to have at a meal so as not to over eat or stretch your band, but i can't remember. My Dr. does not limit calories or anything. He says to just eat healthy and the band will take care of the rest. But I need a guideline or I'll eat to much. So it was something like 4 oz of Protein, 1/2 cup vegi's and 1/4 cup of starch is that right? If not can you correct me? ~~~Stephanie

Bowel Movements Post Surgery
stept04 replied to RFW's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did on day 3 and then nothing, I actually got constipated after that. But I have seen a lot of post were people had diarrhea, so it is normal too. Liquids in liquids out they say. ~~~Stephanie -
I get my first fill tomorrow, I was banded on the 28th of May. I am so hungry. I've lost 15 pounds, but that's including pre and post-op, so I am ready to get a fill and see what happens. Hopefully I'll get some restriction and same for you. Good luck ~~~Stephanie

LBS and hiatal hernia fixed at the same time
stept04 replied to carriet's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
They found my hiatal hernia at the time of surgery and fixed it. The Dr.said I may have some tightness in my chest which I did, but other than that It wasn't that bad at all I don't think it made that much difference, but I've never had the LB surgery by itself. I did not have a problem. ~~~Stephanie -
Wow...cattle call anyone?
stept04 replied to deleteme's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm so sorry for your inconvenience. I do know that not all True Results are run the same. Which I thought was weird, they have different was of doing most everything. At least I found that to be true here in Texas I don't know if you can switch to a different office . Hopefully they are just having a bad day and will make it up to you. Good luck ~~~Stephanie -
I don't know how the lifestyle lift works, but if it does what it says I'd say go for it. ~~~Stephanie

I need to know if y'all have any tips on being able to tell the difference between head hunger and belly hunger. I get a fill on Wednesday, and my Dr. does not have me on any calorie restrictions, but I'm going to have to limit myself anyway because I know how I am. So I'm hoping y'all have some tips . ~~~Stephanie

Pre-Op Shakes are AWFUL!
stept04 replied to michpell39's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Check on Bariacric Advantage Meal Replacement shakes. My dr. recommended them as his first choice. Maybe they would work for you. They have 27 grams of Protein. You can find them at Bariactric Advantage.com. Good luck ~~~Stephanie -
Wednesday I am suppose to go in for a fill. I'm still on soft foods. My question is that for the most part I've been able to handle all the soft foods, I just noticed that I had a small problem with fish and then re-fried Beans once. I think I hate to much at one time or took to big of a bite I think. It felt like it was slowly going down my esophagus it was like I had to burp but if I did food would come up, but I never burped it went down. I am hungry most of the time though. So I was just wondering can you still get a fill if you've had trouble like that, but your still not staying full for 3 or 4 hrs? I just did not want to get a fill if it was going to cause more problems. My Dr. uses fluoroscope will that make a difference in determining whether or not I need a fill? ~~~Stephanie

stept04 replied to addie1978's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Oh great, that what I just had put in. It was a 10cc Realize band. Do you have any statistics on the Reallize band and it being harder to get fills and all? And did that contribute to your band moving to the bottom of your esophagus? Would like to read up on it if you do. ~~~Stephanie
