  1. My guess is blood sugar. So, maybe have some juice or a piece of candy before?
  2. I started my journey at 242 lbs. I was required to do a 2 wk pre-op that I decided to start early (April 1st.) SX was April 29th and as of today, Ive lost 40 pounds! I've exceeded True Results 6 month post op weight goal ONLY ONE MONTH post op! :-) Super happy!
  3. I was banded on the 29th and my first fill was May 28th and second is scheduled for June 19th!
  4. Hey April 2013 Banders!! How is everyone doing? When were you banded? Happy with your loss so far? Any NSVs? Have you noticed a difference since your first fill?
  5. I don't know about you, but hardcore dieting worked but I ALWAYS gained it back and then some. You have the band in which is a tool you will essentially be using forever. You may have one up on her. Just sayin'. :-D
  6. That's great! I'm so close an can hardly wait- 2 more lbs to go! :-) Happy for you!!
  7. Went for my first fill yesterday (banded April 29th) and it wasn't ba at all! A little sting- as if you got a shot or doing bloodwork, but not as bad. It was quick and no pain whatsoever afterwards. I have to be on liquids for 2 days, mushy for one day, and back to solids after that. Good luck!
  8. I was banded on April 29th and although it's been kinda tough the past 3 weeks on the different stages of the post-op diet, I made it. Today, I start "solids" and I'm pretty stoked. I weighed 242 on April 1st, 222 on April 29th (SX day) and now I weigh 205!!! Woo Hoo! I have more energy, I can better keep up with my 4 kiddos (ages 6, 6, 4, and almost 1) and I've dropped TWO pant sizes! I'm so thankful for this journey! My first fill is scheduled for the 28th of this month. Thanks for listening! :-) *happy dance*
  9. Me!!! I have an IUD- Mirena. I haven't had a period in MONTHS like 8-12 months, I can't remember. Anyway, when I started the pre-op diet, immediately I started my period. And it wasn't the spotting (I know, TMI) that I've always experienced on Mirena. It lasted 7 days. Then, just like clockwork exactly one month later, started again- 10 days long this time. Weird!!
  10. I was banded 10 days after you and I start a regular solid food diet this coming Monday (Week 4 post op) I have attached the information I was given from True Results of Houston... I hope it helps! me and johnny.bmp
  11. Ahh! Exciting! I'm so close I can taste it! :-)
  12. Holy moly!! You look absolutely amazing! That is incredible! Wow! How much have you lost to date? Great job!!!
  13. I lost 20 lbs on my pre-op diet that I started April 1st and have lost an additional 9 since being banded 9 days ago.
  14. Oh my gosh... I know the feeling. It DOES get better! I've been banded for 8 days. Yesterday I could start the puréed foods and this next Monday I will start mushy food. <-- I know everyone's post op diet is different. On day 4 I had a meltdown. I had put together 4 meals for me to (or anyone) to pop in the oven to feed my family for the few days I was down. The evening of day 4, I was getting my kids plates fixed and realized I couldn't even TASTE the food to see if it was good. Ha! IT GETS EASIER, I PROMISE! Hang in there, these days will seem like a blur very soon!
  15. Yes, every bit counts!!! & thank you do much! Best wishes to you... Keep on keepin' on!
  16. Amazing!! Great job!
  17. Thanks everyone! :-) I couldn't be more excited for the weight to continue to fall off and STAY AWAY!
  18. The difference is crazy! I can't even imagine what 50, 60, or 70 will look like! (I lost a few pounds over the last few months, started my pre-op diet a little early (April 1st) and lost 20 lbs, was banded this past Monday (April 29) and have lost an additional 3 lbs.)
  19. Mine are younger, but old enough to tell something is different. I just told them that Mommy is going to work super hard to get skinnier and healthy. They thought it was cool as they grabbed my chubby tummy and assured me that it will go away. Haha. They won't know that j had surgery. If they notice, I will tell them I don't feel well. No biggie.
  20. My big day is (finally!) almost here- April 29th. How are all the April bandsters doing??
  21. Thanks everyone! I've done a ton f research and read and read on this forum to better prepare myself. I'm super hopeful that I will succeed! :-)
