    Finally going to do this!

I promise you won't be sorry... like you I would lose most of the weight and it would come back faster than I lost it... and I too thought for the longest time that WLS was "the easy way out".... I was wayyyy wrong on that... it is actually one of the hardest diets you will ever be on... the LB is only a tool ... you still have to work and make different eating choices and that... I think if you're like me the hardest part about it for you will be re-training your eye and brain that the smaller portions are actually large... I got mine April 8th and I am super happy after words even though I haven't dropped as much weight as I would have if I'd had the gastric bypass it's way better to get the LB cuz it's less invasive, shorter recovery, smaller scars and slow and steady is the best pace to have... I'm ready to be able to exercise again now but my surgeon got me waiting 6-8 weeks for that so for now it's just walking around and that is still making a huge difference. Good luck and I promise you won't regret it!!!! Do you know when your surgery date is yet?
  2. so excited to go back to Michigan in July.... there's nothing like home sweet home... Detriot 2 more months and here I come... & Georgia I promise I aint comin back til September 1st cuz until then you got nothin for me (counting down days) :-)

  3. So bummed after my liquid diet was over I gained some weight back & it didn't make any sence to me, the Dr. decided to give a fill and I'm measuring everything to a T but I think I may need another fill cuz I'm not getting full of the diet plan but if I eat more than the recommended amount in one sitting it dangerous so I'm just kinda starving until my next appt. 23rd I'm ready come on

    Symptoms of Band Slipping

what does PB mean? I newly banded so I guess I'm not familiar.... Also you could try my Dr.'s here in Savannah I understand it's a bit of a comute (I think 2 hrs) but If you're really concerned... I know my Doc. is amazing and so is his partners and staff and if you called them and told them you're worries they will find out what is wrong for sure also there is someone there to answer your questions 24hrs a day so you could call them and tell them your concerns and maybe it's something they know off hand and won't even have to be seen for it OR they could possibly give you a number of a good place to call in Atlanta to handle your concerns so you won't have to drive out of town at all my Doctor is Dr. Oliver Whipple (he's got an amazing rating on LBT.com you can look him up) and his office number is 912-350-3438 ... remember there is someone there on call 24hrs a day
  5. 20lbs down since I started my 2 wk pre- and post-op liquid diet... I'm on my last week... so excited to be able to have real food again but uber proud of myself so sticking to the last 2 weeks strictly!!! No bites of anything I'm not supposed to have... just my liquid and I'm doing great... lrd knows my mom and my kids are tempting me with all this good stuff they keep eating but I won't do anything to slip my band ... I've come to far to just f*ck it up now...

  6. sorry I haven't posted since my surgery but the pain meds they put me out litterally having me falling asleep every 5 minutes... ugh I can't funcution with them but I can't exactly function with either... jsmh

  7. starting to get scared now.....

  8. had my final pre-op appointment w/ my surgeon today and tomorrow they'll be calling to tell me what time my surgery is on Monday.... nervous now but ready... let's do this thing already!!!

  9. it's funny when you're a kid and you're scared you cry for your mom or your dad... but when you're an adult you cry for your husband ... or maybe that's just me

    Any bandings in April???

Can I just say something here? I think you have done an AMAZING job... 85lbs is nothing to beat yourself up over.... I think if you set lower goals you'll be happy when you exceed them but if you set a goal that is a high goal if you don't reach it you feel like a failure ... now I know I haven't got my band yet but I have dieted all my life so I do know the goal setting and failing feeling. Also everyone's body is different if you have less to lose the others than yes your loss will come slowly.... and try measuring yourself sometimes it's not all in the lbs but in the inches as well... I think you have done amazing and you should be celebrating your success not beating yourself up!!!!

    Pre Op Diet

Lol that's funny cuz I feel like that's what's going on in my head right now... the worst part is my husband is deployed so I have no one to make my kids meals so far so it's like torture! Your Dr. is letting you eat real food after a week?! Lucky... my Dr. is making me stay on the SAME diet I am on now Clear liquids 2wks pre- and post- op... only sugarfree Jello and popsicles, low sodium chicken broth, ONE carbmaster yogurt a day, ONE 1/2cp serving of Protein pudding a day and then 3 protein "meal replacement" drinks a day... really hard cuz everything is liquid and liquid won't hold satiety long...

    Any bandings in April???

I have the same nervousness going on but I have to calm myself down and remember I made this choice for a healthier me and I'm prepared for this... and you are too... don't worry once it's over and we're awake we'll both feel silly for having worried so much! Good luck
