  1. Gonna venture out to buy things for tomorrow!
  2. I had the Buddha belly as well! Super weird looking! On day 4 now and it seems to be starting to go down!
  3. Im feeling hungry for the first time since surgery! I don't get to start mushies until tomorrow, so I don't know how today is gonna go. I finally was able to poop this morning though! I may try to venture out to the store to get my mushies so I can have them ready tomorrow! I saw that refried Beans were on my list. It didn't list an amount though. I have a call into the doctor, but in your opinion how much do you eat at a time in mushies? And would I need to purée them?
  4. Thanks to everyone for their reply. Luckily, I don't like beer so I was planning on having wine or a non carbonated mixed drink. I know my doctor said drinking in moderation is fine. His concern was more about calories than it hurting the band. I was just looking for some personal experiences as I don't believe my doctor ever said how long to wait.
  5. Damn them! Did you fill out the card to get a free pedometer? I am gonna!
  6. I got a packet from the surgical center that had a temporary card in it and said to go online to register my lap band. I have tried but it just takes me to the homepage and I can't actually register. Also it talks about having a journal and other tools but same thing happens when I go to that website as well. I get redirected to regular lapband website. Has anyone had any problems like this?
  7. I'm not talking about getting hammered or anything, but I have a concert (p!nk) to go to 2 weeks post op and was wondering if that would be too early to have a drink or two?
  8. Also, deep breathes are very very painful today
  9. I am about 24 hours post op and the swelling and pain around incisions has definitely increased. Wondering if it's the gas that hit today? I was expecting it yesterday, but yesterday wast so bad. When did you guys get gas and how many days did it last? Also, how often did you take the maalox? I'm not sure my bottle said
  10. How did it go?! I'm home and doing fairly well. No Halloween band:(, but I did wear underwear that said trick or treat on them! Lol
  11. Had to be there at 6am. Surgery was scheduled for 7:30 and I was discharged around noon. Woke up very very nauseous! They had to give me two doses of meds before it helped. And they said it would knock me out, but I just couldn't get comfortable. The gas pain was horrible at first! It was hurting my back and and I felt cramping. No incision pain though. Abdomen feels like I did 1000 crunches! Getting up and down is difficult and bending over won't happen yet. I believe my abdomen is pretty swollen as my belly button has seemed to disappear. Drinking 4 oz of liquid every hour and just took my first dose of maalox. So overall, not bad so far!
  12. Thank you guys! I'll post tomorrow as soon as I can!
  13. O.M.G. Not sure I could even begin to explain how I'm feeling. Nervous and excited? Scared and happy? freaking out? Yep! All of those!
  14. Doing good now! Only really had 3 rough nights in the two weeks. Have been fine today on clear liquids. Not sure how. Thinking it has to do with adrenaline from the thought of surgery? Idk!
  15. Tomorrow is my surgery!!!!! Today I am supposed to be on Clear liquids only. I have already had some coffee and Water. I bought some apple juice, Jello and broth. Any tips on how to get through the day or anything else I should buy?
  16. This website had an entire article on mixing Protein powder with Hot drinks... http://bariatricfoodie.blogspot.com
  17. I'm like a kid the night before Xmas and I still have 3 days! Trying to sleep on my back to no avail. I've always been a stomach sleeper but would always wake up with one arm completely asleep. I've been able to mostly transition into a side sleeper but can't get comfortable on my back! Was anyone able to sleep on their side after surgery?
  18. Does this include toenail polish?
  19. Thank you guys! I knew you guys would understand. I'm so glad to know I will have all if you through my journey.
  20. Surgery is scheduled for Tuesday. Just finished day 10 of my liquid diet. Today is the first day I find myself truly struggling. I feel like part of it is because I didn't get my approval letter until today. So I may not have recognized that this is really happening. I have stuck perfectly to my liquid diet but today I want to eat. Anything really. Just binge eat like I always would to make me feel better. I won't do it. I just hate the thought of never being able to do it again. I realize it is how I got here in the first place and it is probably normal to be feeling this way, but I can't make it go away.
  21. Thank you! I did make some warm cinnamon tea and had some oyster crackers. Surgery on Tuesday, just trying to stay focused on that!
  22. I am seriously nauseous. On day 9 of liquid diet. I did start antibiotics today for a UTI they found with pre op tests. I have only taken 1 pill so far 8 hours ago. I assumed if they would cause an upset tummy it would have been sooner?
