  3. I have this same problem and it usually happens after my first few bites of food. I spoke with my PA about it and she said that when the stomach feels like something is "stuck" it produces lubrication to help move it thru- for some people, the band being around stomach alone is enough to produce "slime" and cause my issue where during the 5 hours between meals slime builds up at band and when I eat, it just sits there and cannot move because its plugged. I "pb" the food out and usually its the food and the plug that come up- then Im fine to eat after that. She suggested sipping some hot tea or coffee before eating to break the mucous up so that you can eat how you are meant to- small dime sized bites chewed to a pulp..and then chewed a little more. 10. I can drink and eat this time- but definitely not a lot at one time. Im going to see how things go over the weekend after swelling goes down. Have been reading board posts and getting scared again. lol! Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  11. I had my 4th fill last thurs and had to go back same day and get unfilled- and even had 1/2 cc more removed than what I had put in because I couldnt stop throwing up. I realized that night that I had some type of flu because for 2 nighys before I had been trying to fight something etc. Well, went back yesterday to get my 1 cc back (put me at 5.5cc's in band), I feel a bit tight! Is it normal to only be able to sip drinks and nibble the tiniest bites? Im thirsty! If I drink too fast, it come right back! I didnt feel enough restriction at 5...after swelling went down...but while I had swelling from the adjustment- it was perfect! Was hoping 5.5 would be my magic number! Should I have .25 removed- or will it get better? Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  12. Absolutely! Happened to me too! I had been taking weekly pics...there were 3 weeks straight that I lost NO weight- but my body shape was changing big time!!! Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  13. My doc said that at 6 weeks post op...most people have lost 8-12 lbs. you are doing great!!!! Keep up the good work! I am just now feeling restriction at 6cc's in. I had surgery 3-21-13 and my pre-op/post-op loss is 35lbs. I also encourage you to take weekly photos! There were 3 weeks where I felt so discouraged because I wasnt losing any weight...but when I put my pics together- my body was changing A LOT! (I attached pic) We have to Celebrate small victories on this journey! They add up! Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

  15. Thats awesome! Dont be too hard on yourself if you dont lose that the 2nd month too! I had high expectations also and was a bit upset I havent lost as much as I thought I would. At first- with liquid diets and monitored eating..body loses weight quickly....then it tapers off and you hit the 2-3 lbs each week. Keep up the great work! Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

  20. I lost 8 lbs first week, was at 12 lbs at 4 week post op appointment...and at 8 weeks out- I am only at 14 lbs since surgery. My PA said that most people average 12 lbs at 6 weeks out because the body is going through such shock! Just keep doing things the right way! It will come off! Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  21. My insurance covered the doc very well, and my appointments very well. BUT- the surgery center where he practices is not part of "blue distinction" for Anthem- so they only paid 60/40. My surgery ended up costing me $5500 out of pocket- which wasnt shared with me until I got my bill in the mail! Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  22. Thanks! :-) Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  23. I also bought a brand new bathing suit yesterday- that I SHOPPED FOR AND TRIED ON! I have never done that! Have always just bought whatever was cheapest and covered the most! Posted a pic on my blog...was scared- but did it! Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  24. My PA who does all things at my doc office- except the actual surgery- said that after my first fill, I probably wouldnt notice a difference. Said most people dont notice until 3rd fill. She was right about first one- back to normal starvation, and I go lazy in the ways of band eating somewhat! Expected same for second fill and WOW WAS I WRONG! Lol! I do feel a bit of restriction and have been violently reminded that you must take small bites and chew til your jaw falls off! Couldnt even finish a chik-fil-a 6pc nugget kids meal yesterday while out with friends! That is exciting!! Also weighed in at a pretty decent weight today! THINGS ARE LOOKIN UP!
