  1. So after the band, what contributes to your success? I know the restriction is there but do you count calories and how many do you allow yourself a day 1000/1200/2000? Or high protein/ low carb? Or since the band gives restriction, do you just eat whatever and just get full a lot faster? My dr said just watch your calories... I'm curious what everyone else does.
  2. My surgery was May 28. I can be sitting here feeling fine and if I move a certain way or try to get up from a laying down position Or have to bend down, I get a major burning sensation. Its halfway from my belly button to my side. My port is in there somewhere because that's the bigger incision with a little one right next to it and both were covered with a more serious looking bandage. I've lost 21 pounds since my pre op diet started on the 14th and my belly hasn't really shrank at all-so I know I'm still pretty swollen :-( but the burning sensation suck bad when it happens.
  3. I have been thinking about them grits! Ima wait maybe another day or 2. I'm been having cream soups and puddings, jello and some broth (but the broth is about to gag me now). I read somewhere to not eat applesauce and grits yet. Must be the texture I guess. I'm only 4 days post op so I need to be patient I guess. :-). On a different note, every time I bend down or try to get up it burns where my port is and I feel a little flutter there. More paranoia I guess - I'm sure it's just the muscles.
  4. Of wow that's a bit of a drive for u. L Crossroads in Monticello is actually my home church :-) Small world! :-)

  8. Well does anyone know why you're supposed to d/c vitamins at least 7 days before surgery?? I got my Flintstone chewables yesterday and tried one-i was excited cuz i used to take them when i was a kid. I just read to not have vitamins the week before.
  9. I'm a little freaked out (don't know why except that IT'S MY TURN) but I have faith and am not worrying. I'm staying really busy today.
