  1. Congrats!!! How exciting
  2. Hang in there you are doing great!!!
  3. I have not been greeting enough water especially since going to the ER and spending 10 hours there without anything to drink until at the end I had some sips of water. It's been kinda hard to get rehydrated. I was out in the sun today for a couple hours and felt like passing out. I really need to get more water. I started taking my vitamins and calcium again today, thanks to you . I can't believe I forgot to take them. How do you do it? You seem to be so on top of everything and are doing an awesome job.
  4. Your welcome, and thank you as we'll for your support. It's nice to have someone to talk to. I'm sure you will get awesome results. I hope I get some better answers as to why my oxygen levels are low, but I doubt it. I'm just seeing my physician tomorrow and then I have to get a referral to a pulmonologist.
  5. That's crazy. That's pretty harsh of a diet. Your a strong woman. Your going to have some good weight loss
  6. Thank You!!! I'm not sure if you are a mother, if you are happy Mother's Day to you too. I'm definitely going to call the dr first thing tomorrow morning. I would call the dr about the mucus it could be a sign of infection. I will keep you all posted as soon as I know anything. Thanks for the support!!!
  7. You look amazing!!! Definitely not the old you.
  8. On Friday I had to go to the ER. I couldn't breath and I had already had issues with walking around and trying to catch my breath. My oxygen levels were low so they took a bunch of blood and performed several test, did an x-ray, put me on oxygen, and then took more blood to run some test to see if I have bad gasses in my blood which could be a blood clot. Anyways the test came back positive so they started treating me with these shots for blood clots and were telling me that I would be in the hospital for a few days and did I want to be at that hospital or the army one and I was like what the hell is going on what do you mean a blood clot and staying in the hospital a few days. So then they poke me some more with an IV needle that is the wrong size and then had to poke me again on my other arm with a different IV needle. I then had and CT scan and it came back with no blood clots in my lungs. So then they decided they were going to send me home with a oxygen tank, but my insurance won't cover it unless I have a study done to have it sent to my house. So then they did a breathing treatment on me and decided to release me. Now I have to call my physician Monday to get an appt to get a study done to get oxygen just so I can breath better, which I they still have no idea why my oxygen levels dropped. After 10 hours at the hospital. I was wondering why I always felt winded. Anyways besides all that drama I am down to 252 which is 18 pounds. I'm trying to get to 248 by the time I see the dr on the 16th. I want to exercise, but now I have to cut that out until I can get oxygen. My pain is gone and I can sleep on my bed on my side so that is all good news. On the 15 is two weeks since my surgery so I don't know if I should start mushies then or the next day after I see my dr?
  9. You are a busy lady. Your recovery has been going good. Wow I have completely forgot to take my vitamins for several days. I really need to get a pill box and put it right by my shake mix.
  10. Wow your doing awesome. I know that feeling of the back of my head hurting and my back. You will soon be able to sleep on your side I promise. I slept like a baby last night on my side. It was weird the first time I attempted to, but it didn't hurt so I was like ok I can do this YAY!!!
  11. I hope your feeling better. I know the first few days are the worst, but it does get better I promise. I don't have any pain anymore, just some breathing issues, but that's just me.
  12. Donna that's a lot to go through, and making these big changes isn't that easy since we are human and use to eating a certain way for so long. Don't put yourself down. I know I'm new to this since I was just banded on May 1st so I don't know if my advise is the best, I do know that I will have cravings and want things to. I decide that I would learn how to make my own deserts with Splenda and healthier ingredients so I can still enjoy something. Pineapple cooked with a little sugar free vanilla ice cream is good, my sister gave me that idea. I will also allow myself to enjoy something I like one or two days out of the month, just smaller portions and I will workout. I think you just need to make some adjustments and allow yourself a day or two a month to enjoy something you like just in a smaller portion or modified. I know when I can finally eat again I will be cooking different things that I would eat out and get, but instead I will make them healthier. I'm sure I will have a whole cookbook in a few months...lol... You can do it and keep your head up!!!
  13. I just read that you got banded on the 9th. How are you doing?
  14. I feel really good today. I got a lot of cleaning done. I was able to walk on the treadmill for 10mins, tomorrow I plan on going for a walk on this trail by my house. I was able to sleep on my side last night and really don't have any pain. I even coughed today and it wasn't so bad.

2 mnth post op 40 lbs down

    Congrats!!! Your doing awesome!!!
  16. Today I felt great. I was able to get some cleaning done around the house. I also got 10 minutes on the treadmill. I still have asthma attacks especially when moving around more, it's also hard to catch my breath sometimes. My pain is all gone. I even slept on my side. Still trying to follow the doctors advise and not lift anything over 15 pounds which includes my son . I'm still 254 hoping to drop more weight soon. I'm hoping I can be at 248 by my next dr appt on the 16th. I'm going shopping on Tuesday for my next stage the mushy foods. I have cream of wheat, skim milk, sweat potatoes, pudding, and mashed potatoes. Does anyone have anymore suggestions? I want to be able to get more protein than carbs and do not want to gain weight from the change in diet.
  17. That was the incision that bothered me the most to, the other one is the one right below my breast in the middle, I'm guessing that's the hernia repair one for me. I have coughed, sneezed, and even had my son push on my abdomen and my incisions seem to be healing good, but I know that feeling of feeling like it was going to rip open. Your doing an awesome job!!!
  18. Thank you!!! How are you doing?
  19. Thank you, same to you!!! I can't believe we are already going on the 10th day. Thanks for the support I really just had to get that off my mind. My prayers are also with the three kids and family. Your lucky they don't itch yet, because I just want to scratch them so bad until they bleed...lol... Ok not that bad...ouch!!! Is that lose it app a good one? I got some walking in on the treadmill today. Have you lost any weight since surgery? Mine has been slow. Congrats to all of us new bandsters!!!
  20. Whoops I meant today, I'm so off on my days...lol...
  21. Congrats and best wishes to everyone having their surgery tomorrow!!!

    Tomorrow is my day!

Congrats and best wishes to both of you!!!
  23. Sorry I haven't posted on Monday or Tuesday. Something terrible happened on Monday. My husband is military and we live on a military base. I woke up Monday morning to fire truck sirens, so I looked outside and noticed that they were across the street from our house. over the course of the day I noticed the husband get arrested and crime scene investigators come and then the FBI then the worst fear I had came true, they brought the body of the wife out covered. Every time I would fall asleep I would have nightmares and I didn't really eat much or drink much yesterday. This couple just moved in less than a month ago and they have three kids and now he is locked up for murder and these poor kids lost their mom. I know this has nothing to do with lap band, but it really makes me sad and scared that this could happen on a place that is suppose to be more safe. I really can't sleep much. This just really hit too close to home. Sorry I just really needed to get that off my head. As far as my post op I'm feeling much better today. I'm finally in my bed and I'm down 4 pounds. I'm at 254 with a starting weight of 270. I'm proud of myself for my accomplishments and look forward to the scale dropping some more. My incisions are real itchy so I guess that's a good sign that they are healing. I can't wait to see the dr on the 16th. I'm looking forward to moving to the next stage, but a little scared that my weight loss won't be so good when I can start having puréed foods and then soft foods. I guess I just really need to be on top of my calorie intake. Thank goodness for my fitness pal.
