  1. Go ahead and do it. You will not regret having your last meal with a small desert. I did and I felt so good. Now I lost 12 pounds pre op. Now that I have the surgery I have no appetite and once I get hungry I drink Water and is gone. You wont probably feel the urge to eat desert after surgery so I said go ahead and do it and enjoy your desert. Good luck to you on your surgery walk a lot after surgery that really help you.

I would love to do that but after so many day liquid diet im scared it would make my liver grow..

  2. Hi everyone!! I'm to be sleeved next Tuesday (May 14th) I'm more nervous than excited but this is what I have to do and I have faith in God. I don't know exactly what I weigh now because I have been on my pre-op diet and my clothes are a little big. With that being said last I weighed, I weighed 320 which is my highest ever ever. My goal weight is 175. The lowest I have ever been in my adult life is 190 (I'm currently 25). My insurance approved it thank God but I have a high deductible. My support system is my husband and my sisters as well as my mother even though my mother thinks I am having a hernia repair. I'm deciding to keep this private it's just a personal choice.. Wish me luck!

  3. funny... Im having surgery through the same office as him... however different doctor.. and they dont necessarily push for the band either... I even beleive i remember them saying that they are moving away from the band... I actually think this was Gov. Christie who pushed so hard to do it this way... because maybe at the time he didnt want anyone to know... The worst part is this... there was a line that said "he continues to work out with his personal trainer 4 days a week as he had done for years before the surgery" why is that guy still employed... LOL

Hey Lawrence I'm from NJ what office did he use?

  4. Mine is the 14th as well and I have been in hysterics all day. The thing that makes me excited is looking at people's before and afters and how happy they are. But at the moment all I seem to think of is all the negatives so I completely get it.

Me too :/ message me and lmk how it all comes out if you can, ill try and do the same :-)

  5. I freaked out the week before. I was crying in the operating room when they put me under. I thought the worst.

I am okay' date=' it wasn't as bad as I thought, and you will be fine too. :)[/quote']

I feel the same way!! Im asking them to give me something before taking me to the OR, because i honestly think i will run out!!

  6. I believe that I read the same incident' date=' the person who died was in the upper 400 range, was a man with history of clots and had a stroke which is very sad. These are rare instances and aren't related to the type of surgery we are having as much as the general risks of any surgery. I too have a history of blood clots, so that story stuck out to me. However we discussed the risks with my doctor and took extra precautions (blood thinning injections that I gave myself and still am now ) . Any surgery has these risks. But the percentage is minuscule compared to the long term health risks involved in being overweight. And especially being young, the statistics are that as we get older things continue to get worse, 95% of the time. These are the things that I repeated to myself when I got nervous, and I hope it helps in some way![/quote']

Noo it was a lady from my fb group she was pretty young and left three young girls. I understand all that and once all this is over i will probably laugh it off. But now i cant seem to be able to shake anything off!! :(

  7. Hi guys my surgery is May 14th and i want to call my surgeon and cancel!! I feel like im loosing my **** and to top it off someone on one of the other forums had a friend pass away from vsg complications. Is this normal, i think I'm going crazyyy sorry this is just venting but yes im losing it!!

  8. I am looking at it like this. Every pound I don't gain before surgery is a pound I don't have to lose after. I also got a Fitbit and I've been increasing my walking. I have cut out carbonated drinks and trying to limit a' date='COBOL to a couple glasses a week. Limiting coffee to one cup a day. Trying to get in as much Water as I can.[/quote']

    You are 100% correct!!
