  1. I've noticed that I've had the same thing... Waking up choking on liquid or acid. I stopped eating anything more than 3 hrs before I planned to go to bed. Lately it's been just liquid. I stopped drinking anything at least 30 min before bed and that has seemed to help. I should also note that I've had a cold with alot of sinus drainage and I think that the drainage was filling my pouch in my sleep and forcing the fluid up.
  2. I have tried to contact allergan but have not received a response. Did anyone else not receive their card or an I the only one with issues?
  3. Before surgery i was given a pack by my surgeon and inside was the ability to send in a card to get a lap band ID card. I filled it our abs submitted it bit have never received it. It has been almost a year. My friend who had her lapband a month before me got hers without a problem
  4. Unjury is the only brand of protein that I have used. I ordered a sample pack during preop and it didn't have any nasty taste so I've stuck with it. In almost a year postop I still have at least one serving of unjury a day for protien. Luckily my surgeons office sells it so I don't have to order it. And I pay for it with flexible spending money. It's considered an eligible medical expense.
  5. This is the way my doctor does fillss and I found green zone after only 4 fills.
  6. My go to Protein coffee/ iced coffee is the following: 1 scoop Injury Protein powder 1 shot of SF torani or davinci syrup 8 oz Silk plain 2 scoops Maxwell House instant coffee 8 oz hot Water Mix the unjury, Silk, and syrup together then mix in the coffee made with hot water. Drink warm or pour over ice. It makes a good size drink that usually takes me over an hour or two to drink. It's my daily Breakfast for almost a year now since getting my Band.
  7. I'm in the green right now I think. Since breakfast is protein shake (nothing solid in the morning bc of restriction) lunch tends to be something like soup or chili since it's the first food of the day. I typically make a pot on the weekend and take it all week. I also use chicken salad as an alternative. Dinner is when I get my solid protein. All you can do is listen to your brand. My eating habits have changed with every fill. And yours will too.
  8. I prefer the "floating" method to twice a bad stick. I ate a bite of potato with skin and got stuck. I was in the car and was sliming for almost 2 hrs spitting into an empty cup. Finally stopped and went to a bathroom with a bottle of water and sipped the water to float the skin back out. It's like a pb it it's less violent than as actual vomiting. I don't recommend it unless as needed... Easier to just avoid the skins on things.
  9. Im at 10 months post and yes I feel a difference when I eat or drink hot and cold. Cold will tighten me up instantly. I drink bottled water all day BC I can keep it at room temperature. If I'm feeling tight I do something warm like broth or hot tea. Sometimes if I know that I'm going to be going out with people who don't know about my band I'll drink hot tea early to loosen me up so there are no episodes... otherwise I'll be sliming and pbing immediately.
  10. I have the chewable bariatric advantage ones. They taste so gross. But I'll get back to taking them this week to see if it makes a difference with my fatigue. Thanks everybody.
  11. I don't take my vitamins because I figure I'm getting everything from food. However I have been fatigued lately. Wonder if this is result of lack of vitamins? My blood work came back fine at six month post op. I have the chewable bariatric vitamins but they are so gross the thought of taking them makes me shudder.
  12. I went from not really liking spicy to wanting it more. I like to add chopped chili's to things now for that reason. And love spicy chili and salsas.
  13. If you make your own SF JELLO you can add protein powder and use it as a way to get your protein in without wasting calories
  14. I got a fill on the 9-25 and got stuck last night. Woke up with acid reflux this morning and it has lasted all day. I can take liquids but the burning makes me want to avoid solid food. I'm worried that I might have slipped.
  15. Oh i lived on chicken salad. Canned chicken pulsed in the food processer mixed with a Greek yogurt/mayo and some sweet relish. I made tons of this in my mushy stage. I still eat it all the toner...i just don't put in food processor any more.
  16. Hey Debbie i think you read that from lapbandgal. She talked about it alot in her early post surgery.
  17. I had my surgery in march and at six months out the feeling is starting to come back. Give it time...nerves take time to heal.
  18. In the beginning it was random and not food related...the food related part happened after recovery when i started noticing it.
  19. I make an iced coffee with unjury and soy milk every morning. It gets me through the day.
  20. Try adding or cooking your chicken in something with a creamy or fatty base with oil. You need the lubrication with chicken BC it can dries out even when its wet. Try cooking your chicken in the crock Pot with a can if cream Soup...it keeps it really moist. Make chicken salad with greek yogurt. Just an idea.
  21. I tried them and they were pretty good..a bit dry...but they would be a good option for convenience like when traveling.
  22. I make a batch of chix salad every Sunday for the work week and portion into half cup servings. I keep at work in fridge so i don't have to worry about what to eat every day for lunch. I change up what i eat it with...crackers one day, raw veggies the next, etc. this weekend i made turkey chili and i also portioned out into 3/4c servings and will give that as an extra option this week. It helps me stay on track during the week to remove the lunch stress. I only allow myself one lunch out a week with coworkers.
  23. I just got a bump fill on wed and had diahhrea on thurs and Fri...that was the first time i noticed it happening....but there is a tummy bug going around so it Could have been either...but it resolved itself by Saturday with no drugs.

  25. That's why you should be taking your vitamins post surgery to prevent you from losing nutrients you would normally Get from veggies But mite miss out on when you Are focusing on protien.
