  1. Ok I was just sleeved on 7/16/13. I realize that my question is very early on in this process. As of today I am 304, which is down 15 pounds since the day of surgery. I am 43 years old and I have been overweight all my life. I am 5.5".

Question: what are some things, that some of you that had similar numbers, do to reduce excess skin. I don't want to lose a whole lot and then find out that I could have done something along the way that would help. I know I will have some, but I want to minimize any that I can.

  2. Thanks' date=' Daydra!! Keep up the good work - you're doing awesome :)

And Momof3, it sounds like we'll be crossing paths a lot on the boards. I'm really glad to know a few folks who are all having their sleeves at the same time, so we can check in with each other on where we're at and how things are going.[/quote']

Sounds like a plan. I am an elementary school principal. I have only part of the month of July off put like you I am going to use this time to Oxus on my surgery and recovery. Best of luck to you!

  3. Awesome!! I too enjoy reading your post. I am having surgery on July 16 and my starting weight is just under your starting weight. You give me so much inspiration as I'm traveling this pre-surgery journey. I pray that I will have similar results as you. I am 43 and have 3 children that are 6 and under. I want to be healthy so that I can be around to watch them grow up. However, to be there, I have to change where I am today. I'm spiritually, mentally, and physically ready!! A lot of my feeling and being ready is from reading post from people like you. Keep it up!!!

  4. I got word from Aetna that I am approved after only 6 days! I was worried it would take alot longer or something would be wrong. Now' date=' next Tuesday 16th I have my pre surgery testing, upper GI, EKG, bloodwork and Xray. If all of those come back fine, I will finally be scheduled for surgery. I'm hoping for the week of May 6th or 13th. I started this journey in November of last year with an information session at the South Mississippi Surgical Weight Loss Center in Ocean Springs. Everyone there has been remarkable. I'm so excited but also terrified, the surgery is real now, if that makes any sense.[/quote']

Did you have your surgery? If so how are you doing? I finally have my date -- July 16!!
