I did not have to do the swallow test and the doctor has never said anything about having to do one.

I didn't look at the needle until after. I didn't get any numbing before. Nurse said not worth it and he was right.

The fill. was so fast I didn't even know it happened. It was painless and that said see you in a month. I was worried for nothing.

I was sharing on another thread that I had my first fill yesterday. It was so quick. No pain…pretty much exactly like Bandista's. What was unusual about me is that my surgeon placed 6cc in my band during surgery which is almost unheard of. He said that I didn't have much of a fat pad around my stomach. So they added 0.5cc to my band which already had 6cc for a total of 6.5cc. I go back in 2 weeks. I was on liquids for 24 hours and was able to eat normally today without any issues. I stayed full almost 1 hour longer than I did with the 6cc. So maybe just half a cc more and I'll be in the green zone.
@@sandeebar - The green zone is when your band has just the right amount of Fluid to keep you feeling satisfied for at least 4 hours without snacking. If you have to snack, you're not in the green zone (or you just want to snack and are making the excuse that you're hungry).

    hi Sandee
did your doctor give you a (handout) of what you can eat during the stages of post op?
if not, please call and ask them for one
*you can eat just about anything, just make sure it is mushy as you are still healing but def get on the phone with your doctor for this info as your doctor has a specific so called eating plan for you*

Can you tolerate yogurt instead of the cottage cheese?

Mushies phase is hard. I ate a lot of cottage cheese, but since you can't tolerate it, you may have to get creative. I found that there were some things I ate on the mushies phase that weren't exactly the most healthy but since the phase was very short and I was eating so little, it wasn't too bad. Like mashed potatoes. My doc said I could eat Spaghetti O's. I ate refried Beans too. Lots of people take regular food and blend it up, but for some reason, that grosses me out. Applesauce is good. Trying doing a search on this site for the word mushies.

I have some lactose intolerance issues as well. I've been eating soft scrambled eggs (egg beaters) with a little shredded, melted cheese. I cook them in the microwave for a couple minutes.

Thanks, Leepers. I settled for a little Tomato Soup tonight and another tbl of hummus. I think I'm coming up short on Protein for the day, but I'm too full for another shake. Blending food doesn't appeal much to me either. I'm glad to know this phase is a short one. I may try a scrambled egg tomorrow.

I had my surgery on 11/12/14 without incident. When I saw the surgeon on 11/20, he told me to start complicating my diet with soft foods like fish, cottage cheese and yogurt. The fish is fine, but I'm lactose intolerant (and Lactaid doesn't work for me). I have a couple of calls into the nutritionist at his office, but she hasn't got back to me yet. I had a small tilapia fillet over the weekend a a couple to tbls. of tuna with no problem (except learning to eat slower), but I'm not sure what else to try next. Any suggestions?
