  1. Try and use a soft pillow to lay against when you lay in your left it will get easier
  2. I cannot wait until puréed stage!!!! I'm literally dreaming of food with flavor lol
  3. I was banded March 29th as well I take my vitamins but I'm still exhausted. I just reminding myself to take it easy we are healing. When we can eat puréed then hopefully it'll get better. Congrats!!!! This place is awesome
  4. Each pre-op diet can differ by Doctor, weight and health issue. Mainly to help shrink your liver so it's easier to apply the band! Sticking to it makes surgery easier and recovery! I'm post-op 8 days all liquid for two weeks. It isn't that bad, I crave but then I tell myself it isn't worth my goal. I so look forward to puréed stage So far I've lost 10.2 lbs.... Worst part is the Gas from surgery I would of rather given birth again! It's doable after a few days. I too have research and found the lap-band is the safest but with any surgery there are risks but so is breathing the air. I was banded March 29, 2013.... We have no promise of tomorrow but today at least I know I have a chance!!!! Happy Banding. This is a great place for support.
  5. You will be in my thoughts and prayers, please keep us posted.
  6. You all are so amazing, thank you!!!!!!
  7. This definitely doesn't sound right. Is it at an incision site? I was given the best advice from my friend who is also a nurse she told me you know your body and if it doesn't feel right don't stop till you have answers.
  8. Awww hun I hope you feel better soon. I have the suppositories and they helped a lot. I will be praying for you!!!!!!!
  9. Me too please!!!!!
  10. I figured as much but wanted to be on the safe Side and not make myself crazy over it. Thank you so much!!!
  11. I am 6 days post op and I know I'm on liquids but I haven't had a bowel movement. I am taking miralax daily but nothing. I am still swollen of course and I just feel heavy inside otherwise no issue. Is this normal
  12. I was banded March 29th and had to drive 3 1/2 to get home, well my husband did. The gas pain was the worst make sure you have your Gas-X strips Safeway has them. I made sure I had a pillow for my tummy because you will feel every bump. A bottle of water to sip on make sure it's not cold. I stopped every hour or so to walk it helped with the gas pain. I advised my doctor and nurses that I was driving and they made sure I had meds for nausea before I left. I had already gotten my scripts the day before so that was helpful. The next day was the hardest mainly Gas and realizing I used my abdominal muscles more than I thought. This is a wonderful place to come to. Everyone is very supportive. I wish you a speedy and healthy recovery!!
  13. I don't go for my pre-op appt until May 2 I'm not sure if I will get a fill or not I'm hoping as I have nothing now but what is the rule on drinking or eating before? I know after but wasn't sure on before.
  14. It wasn't to bad but I mainly stayed at my desk due to being dizzy at times. I am exhausted though. I felt very heavy inside and I think that's still due to swelling.
  15. Today is day 5 and I am feeling soooooo much better. The bruising is going away the tenderness is minimal and the hunger isn't bad which from what I've read will change. I feel really good and start back to work tomorrow, now dealing with all the questions from the co-workers. One day at a time!!!!!
  16. Ok I was banded on March 29th and the nurses sent home papers telling me not to drink anything cold or hot as it will cause my stomachs to contract which is understandable. Then I was told two to three weeks liquid then move onto the puréed. I called to verify because my new bible The Lap-Band solution which the told me to go by says 7 days liquid then puréed they said to go by the book. I'm so frustrated I want to do what is best for me but they're not helping. I think I just need to vent and some feed back would be greatly appreciated!!!! Thank you in advance for putting up with my craziness Lol
  17. Today the bruising is better. Still sore but that's to be expected. Thank you all for being so caring and helpful
  18. Today is much better but could sleep all day still. I took another day off from work and I'm hoping it gets better. I'm up walking when I'm awake. Thank God the gas is passing productively
