  1. Thanks, and congratulations on your loss!
  2. I'm thinking way ahead, but have questions about loose skin issues and removal. I'm 215 now with no surgery date yet, and my goal is to lose 80 lbs. Is losing 80 lbs going to leave me with saggy skin? Is there any body lotion/cream to help me keep from having loose skin as I lose weight? I doubt if my insurance would pay for it if considered cosmetic.
  3. I don't know if there is one for Wii, but I have African Healing Dance that is wonderful! It's easy on the joints, the African drums make you want to move, there's no jumping, but you still work up a good sweat.
  4. It seems like you could make something out of the stomach material left over, you know, like a coin purse, or a hat. ......
  5. Went to the doctor and seminar. He does more of the vertical sleeve surgery than the Lapband. It's kinda scary to think of them just discarding the largest portion of the stomach. Anybody have this, and have trouble with this surgery? Thanks
  6. I tend to repeat myself. ;0)
  7. Great and inspiring stories! We can all identify with that "worm dance" when getting our pants zipped! Congratulations!

  9. Hi Jack, I also lurked a while before I had anything to add. I'm like you, I'm ready to get with the program! Good luck with your appointment! Cindy
  10. Congrats! That must help to get through it all, knowing the weight is coming off steadily. MRSINTO, thanks for your comments and links. I appreciate it!
  11. Stupid phone spellcheck! Reading, not reason, in above post. :0/
  12. Thank you! I've purchased these 2 books you recommended and will be reasons them with a highlighter in my hand - my favorite way to read! Congratulations on your success! This is what gives me hope.
  13. Wow, that's a lot of pre-op stuff to get through! Thanks so much for that info. I was hoping to have it done and in a comfort zone before grandkids come in June. Knowing all of this is making it look more like early fall before a surgery date. That's okay though, I want to enjoy the summer with the kids. Thanks again!
  14. First, congratulations and I'm hoping to read more of your progress! I'm new here and I'm not familiar with plication? Not even sure if I spelled it right.
  15. Thanks all! butrflykiss - check out the rest of this website, and another I got a lot of info from is http://www.lapband.com/en/learn_about_lapband/ I bet someone here or there has some insight to your anxiousness. Good luck!
  16. I'm so impressed by everyone's positive experiences! Sounds like you're doing fine! My daughter started making a dip for apple slices that's really good, and lo-cal too! Ingredients: vanilla yogurt (lo cal, or plain yogurt with vanilla and Splenda) peanut butter Splenda brown sugar - just a bit for flavor We make it in big servings and keep on hand, but for one apple, use about 1/2 cup yogurt, 1 tbsp. of peanut butter, and 1 or 2 tsp. brown sugar. Mix well and enjoy.
  17. Hello, I'm so glad I found this informative and friendly forum!! It helps to hear from you that have had the procedure as well as all the various stages. I'm a country gal from Oklahoma, married for 37 years, 2 kids and 6 grandkiddos. I was recently able to get a small barn-like building for an art studio and I love it! Art is what helps me stay sane. Well, somewhat. So I discussed the lap band with my husband and he's very supportive. He knows how depressed I've been because of my extra weight. And the journey begins.... I'll be going to my first appointment with my surgeon of choice, Dr. Kirk in Owasso, OK on April 1st. That's the date of my first seminar also. How long of a wait is there till all the tests are done and I finally get a surgery date? Just wondering. I'm so ready for this! Oh, and call me Cindy. Barefoot Bliss is the name of my art studio.
  18. What a wealth of information here! I also just ordered your Lap Band Book, since I love sitting in a comfy chair with a good book and a highlighter.
