  1. I was just looking around on Amazon and I found a book called "Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery" by Patt Levine and I was wanting to know of anyone that owns it and recommends it. From what I have read about it, it has a lot of good recipes for days, months and years after surgery. A good recipe book I think will help me on my journey and help other people too! Let me know!! -Amine
  2. Just wanting to know the difference between a normal lap band a lap band with plication? I have heard the word many times but not to familiar with it.
  3. Yeah its only like an hour and half away and not to bad of a drive. I was going to have the Lap Band done in Peoria at OSF Medical Center but they didn't treat me right when I wanted to get more info on everything. All my family and friends are from Danville and that's were I'm orginally from and I'll be healing up after surgery in Danville so its gonna work out pretty good. I just finished my 3 in 1 appointment in Clinton yesterday. They are getting some more of my medical records together and I have to get my pysch eval back and then in should submitted to BCBS. Its a waiting game now. They told me yesterday it will be end of April early May at the latest since its the beginning of the year. Yeah I feel the same way I just wanna get it done and over with lol. I want it done before summer so I can enjoy the weather while its lasts and start my journey!!

  8. Hey Everyone, I have my 3 in 1 appointment tomorrow which consists of my psych evaluation, I talk with my nutritionist and I get my yearly physical (haven't had one in a few years lol). I'm nervous but I think everything well go pretty smoothly and I'm excited at the same time!! I'm thinking everything should be completed tomorrow or by the end of the week and sent off to my insurance and hopefully I will hear something here in a week or two!! If anyone had some advice, I would greatly appreciate it!! -Amine
  9. Thanks Sammy I appreciate it I'm ready to start my new life and get healthy!!
  10. I'm also new to this site and its been very helpful looking through a lot of threads and getting a crap load of info. I just had my initial appointment last week and I have another one next week with getting my psych evaluation meet with a dietician and getting a physical. I'm not sure what's gonna follow. I'm sure I find out next week. A lot of peoples processes are different too. I'm 6'2 and weigh 346 pounds and have a BMI of about 45. I have high blood pressure and not sure if I have sleep apnea or not. You have to meet what your insurance requires for baratric surgery. Give your insurance a call and ask what they require! -Amine
  11. Thanks guys I appreciate it! I'm glad to be here!
  12. I'm from the Peoria area and going to have it done in Champaign if possible. I have a BMI of 44 and have high blood pressure. I heard of them being pretty quick and getting back to people instead of waiting and waiting.

  14. They scheduled my appointments together for some reason lol. Psyhicatric evaluation, a psychical (haven't had one in a few years lol) and I meet with a nurtionist/dietician. I would rather knock as much as I can and get my stuff submitted!!

I've had my initial consultation last week and I have a psych eval, meet with a nutrionist and I get my physical all in one appointment. I was also wanting to know what to expect in this 3 in 1 appointment from everyone I'm going to meet. Thanks!!
